Off to Hoover on Monday. 25 years in a row. Remember when 74nole and about six other Gator fans got into a shouting match with idiot Ole Miss fans during a Gator/Rebels game. THAT WAS EXCITING.

If King pitches anywhere close to the way he did in Austin last weekend, we'll be in great shape. Just got to play solid defense and get timely hits.

 

Baseball and Softball today. Ready for projects I have been putting off. Been out of town the last few weeks. Grass Grows!!! Gotta finish the outside projects early. It will be hot today.

 

Forecast for game time is 93 with 97 heat index... yeah, that's too hot for me. (Tickets claimed -- go Gators!)

 

Nine SEC teams now have 16 wins. Our hosting possibilities are very likely over without a deep run in Hoover. Gators sit 10th in SEC but several teams are 14-15... we could wind up 10th seed or 13th... in other words, we gotta win today. Go Gators!

 

Except one of those teams with 16 is bama.....beating them 2 of 3 this weekend might push uf ahead of them going to hoover

 

Hosting would probably require winning today and getting deep into Hoover, preferably including bouncing Ole Miss. If our boys are to go on the road, it's probably @ FL St (who probably gets a soft #4), Coastal Carolina (top mid-major this year), or Clemson... or the Gators end up a long way, because "a flight is a flight". Clemson is probably the best non-host case, esp. because it means a mid-major or long-flight other 2/3.

 

Maybe. But just like in softball, the selection committee puts a lot of emphasis on RPI & SOS. Right now, UF is #14 in RPI, #3 in SOS and only 11 teams have more Quad 1 wins than the Gators and 2 of those are behind us in RPI. Of course we want to win as many games as possible, but it may not be as bleak as some think in getting to host a Regional. And even if we end up a 2 seed in another region, I think all of us would have taken that in a heartbeat 3-4 weeks ago when our prospects of even making the tournament looked very slim.

 

Alright Gators, I am saying this now, but it goes for the whole game, because I am going to be at the Rangers/Astros game today.
