That killing of the US citizen terrorist in Yemen was probably part of the reason for the the recent tortured and potentially disastrous SCOTUS decision that basically said the president can’t commit a crime if it’s official business

Lot of the arguments for killing him (rather than attempting to capture and put on trial i.e due process) not dissimilar to Trump admin's on getting Kilmar back and dealing with potential deportees ("its too hard to give everyone a trial, and too late in the case of Kilmar"). Looks like the government has learned that if they call people terrorists and claim extraordinary emergency powers, they can get away with just about anything. Exactly the warnings civil libertarians raised at the time. Putting someone in a legal blackhole like CECOT is just about close to killing them where they cant do anything about it ex post facto.

seems like se spent $1B worth of ammo for nothing as we walk away with our tail behind our legs

so Hegs first attempt to enforce our will came up woefully short while exposing our inability to resupply munitions.

between this and trump folding like a cheap suit of Tariff's, one wonders if Xi has plans for Taiwan very soon

    Houthi 1, Orange Deity 0

Houthi attacks exposed US Navy issues over ammo supplies, says admiral

"I think most estimates are within a few days of combat, if there was an invasion of Taiwan, that the US — the Navy in particular — would run out of weapons," Clark said, referring to Chinese threats against Taiwan, a US ally.

In the congressional hearing, lawmakers were scrutinising the Navy's 2026 budget, with ammunition production shortfalls and shipbuilding delays among the issues discussed.

Republican Rep. Tom Cole of Oklahoma, chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, reportedly warned of the possibility of the US running out of ammo in a war, and the need to find munition replacements.

"We need to do what we can to accelerate that process, because we're all very, very concerned," he said.

The Houthis’ Parting Shot at Donald Trump

The defeat of the United States in the Middle East is, sadly, complete. On the heels of the new deal that President Donald Trump has struck during his Mideast tour extravaganza, the Houthis have decided to humiliate the Americans with a parting shot.

While President Trump was visiting with the Saudi Royal Family to great fanfare, the Houthis launched a long-range missile from their mountain redoubt in the dusty foothills of nearby Yemen. The missile, recorded by onlookers in Saudi Arabia, and posted to social media, was seen streaking over the country on its way to distant Israel. Recently, the Trump administration admitted that the Houthi rebels—formally known as “Ansar Allah,” or “Supporters of God”—effectively defeated the United States Navy in what had been a multi-year struggle for control over the key strategic waterways of the Red Sea and the Bab El-Mandeb.

In the last year, U.S. aircraft carriers operating within the range of Houthi missiles have nearly been damaged by those Houthi missiles. At some point, the Houthis nearly struck an American carrier, aided with Iranian missiles and Russian and (possibly) Chinese targeting data. In the last month alone, the USS Harry S. Truman had two near misses, forcing it to radically maneuver out of the way of incoming Houthi missiles—and causing the loss of not one, but two F/A-18E/F Super Hornets. News then came out that an advanced F-35 Lightning II had to rapidly evade incoming Houthi missiles around the same time, narrowly avoiding becoming the first F-35 ever shot down.

The Trump administration had thrown everything but the kitchen sink at the Houthis, and the Houthis survived. Recognizing that he had bigger matters to attend to, and it served no greater purpose for the U.S. to be seen as having fought a war with the Houthis only to lose it, Trump threw in the towel. Of course, the Houthis are celebrating the ceasefire as a form of a victory over the Americans, stuffing it down the Americans’ face—even as the president visits Saudi Arabia by firing missiles over his head.

He had to grift some money and gifts from Gulf Arab nations. And he needed to make sure his cryptocurrency scam was fully functioning.

(He'll do the health care plan in two weeks.)

You sound thrilled we've been "humiliated" by basking in the "defeat" and potential death of US service members. I like ceasefires and hate war. I've been there and done that. You must like war. It was all fine and dandy under the last admin when US ships were getting harassed. What a great person you are.

Was not posted to me but my question is: Questioning the current administrations actions is being thrilled about death? I remember how righties felt the same way about a suicide bomber in Afghanistan withdrawal. You guys are priceless. Never disappoint.

I don’t like war, but it makes America look weak and incompetent to go to war, and then run away with our tails between our legs. We just lost to a group that isn’t even a country… totally embarrassing. America deserves better leadership. Either fight to win, or keep your nose out. China, Russia, and Iran are laughing at our weakness.

Obviously attacking Yemen was a bad moves. Glad Trump (or whoever) figured this out quickly
