Apparently, many escaped and fled, having been tipped off by a new superintendent on the job site...

Lost in all of this, why was DeSantis spending Florida taxpayer money to fly illegals from Texas when they've been right under his nose??

back in 2018, I was selling new homes for a builder. I was standing outside the model when I noticed all the roofers coming down off the roofs of the homes under construction and getting into trucks and hauling butt out of the community. Ice agents showed up about 15 minutes later. Someone tipped them off (not me because I had no idea they were illegals)

The employers should be punished. E-Verify works very well and if it approves someone as being able to work and later it is determined that they were illegal, there is no penalty for the employer.

How about we give these workers that don’t have records work visas instead of sending them back. Give them a way to work and live here as long as they stay out of trouble and keep a job.

For the first time the company that has the yard contract in my subdivision has a hiring sign on the truck doors.

Fruit and veggie picking, roofing, etc. are not jobs young Americans want to do and I don’t blame them.

A question that I frequently asked the last two years, all of those people who the Biden Admin let in and scheduled hearings for, where they given any documentation allowing them to illegally work?

We’re having our barrel tiled roof hip and ridge mortar “revitalized” next week (was never happy with the original job when built) and there’s a good chance the men who’ll perform the work are not properly documented aliens. I agree with you, these folks deserve the opportunity to continue living and working in the US.

You can't complain about spending $5 billion on building the wall back in 2016 and now complain when we spent hundreds of billions on inviting, transporting, and resettling 10's of millions of illegals into our cities and towns during the last administration. Taxpayers' money is funneled through bogus government agencies like USAID to the NGO's. The Lutheran Services of FL alone got $85 million based here in Tampa. The illegals may now be outnumbering the New Yorkers here in Tampa.

I've been saying that for years. If the GOP really cared about stopping it we'd start seeing CEO's in hand cuffs and businesses shutdown.

There are approximately 8 million undocumented immigrants in our current workforce. The US hands out about 140,000 work visas a year. Assuming every undocumented worker was magically deported tomorrow, it would take 57 years under current levels to replace all their labor with legal Visa holders.

Our current legal immigration laws are woefully inadequate to allow for supply of labor to legally meet demand. Been this way for generations now, and why two separate, bipartisan Senate Committees have recommended an enhanced guest worker visa program. A Bracero type program won't solve every immigration woe, but it's the best answer for our immigrant labor needs, which will go a long way in making things much better for not only the immigrants, but for us as well.

Funny someone mentioned that now maybe an enterprising young person can take that construction job. What is the current shortfall in labor for construction, maybe a half million workers? Most US citizens are not standing by to take a job vacated by an undocumented worker.

My youngest has a few years of college left but I hope all these illegals have vacated their jobs so that he can find gainful employment in the fields.

I know this is going to sound like BS but it is exactly how the situation was explained to me.

I walked out on a job site and all the drywall crew were getting into busses. I said something to the Superintendent and he said ''don't worry about them boys" Every year around this time the report themselves and Ice gives the a free ride home for Christmas. Then all they have to do is find a ride back and they are here working again at the first of the year.
