I mean, isn't that true of literally any gift? All I can do in a luxury house that somebody gives me is live in it and improve my life in some way. Even if somebody gives me cash, all I can do is buy stuff that gets me something that betters my life. True, it appears that he can't convert the plane into some other asset, but it is still a pretty obvious bribe.

Trump policies towards Qatar have absolutely changed. In 2017, Trump went on and on about how Qatar was funding extremists. As such, he backed a Saudi blockade of the country. However, the blockade was ended with Trump's backing/mediation in January 2021, right before his son-in-law's new company was handed a huge amount of money by the Qatari government. Now, despite the continued connections with the same extremists like Hamas and the Syrians as well as the Iranians, they are treated as some of the most important allies that we have in the entire world. At the same time that he is insulting our traditional allies like Canada.

 

The largest American military base in the region is in Qatar. They have been a key ally for a while now.

 

Yep. And despite that, Trump regularly spoke of their funding of extremism and supported the Saudi government blockading the entire country. Now, he is meeting with those very same extremists in the country and shaking their hands.

 

I’ve got some ocean front property in Wyoming to sell you if you think Trump plans on ever decommissioning or donating this plane. I mean… come on… seriously?

The other issue is its suitability as Air Force one. I’m quite sure secret service and military would say hells no to this due to the obvious issues both in protecting the President and the planes use in national security situations. I guess he could fire them all and insist on it. So all that gets thrown out the window to satisfy one persons vanity? Most likely this plane never really serves as AF1 and Trump sycophants will be defending why the plane is “his private property” in 3 years time.

Attorney General Pam Bondi sold millions of dollars in shares in Trump Media on the same day President Donald Trump unveiled widespread tariffs on allies and foes alike, according to a government ethics transaction report.

In the days following the announcement of the “Liberation Day” tariffs, which caused the stock market to plummet, Trump Media dropped 13 percent, before rising again. The company operates the Truth Social social media platform.

The president unveiled the tariffs on April 2 after the markets had closed. According to Bondi’s disclosure forms, she sold between $1 million and $5 million of shares in Trump Media on April 2, but the forms didn’t state if the sales took place before or after the markets closed.

It remains unclear, however, whether Bondi knew ahead of time of any information relating to the tariffs that were not available to the public in her role as attorney general.

As for Trump enriching himself in office, my recollection is Forbes had Trump losing ~$1 Billion of net worth during his first 4 years as president.
