Folks on this board don't want to address that issue.

and in perfect form she is claiming immunity, official act, just like dear leader did. brilliant

Judge Indicted for Blocking Migrant’s Arrest Claims Immunity

A Wisconsin state judge indicted for allegedly obstructing the arrest of a Mexican immigrant by federal authorities said the charges should be dismissed because she’s immune from prosecution for her official acts.

It almost reads like they may not have arrested her if she hadn't been so damn disrespectful to the ICE agents. I suppose that goes to her intent, which obviously helps to substantiate the base charge. Doesn't sound like a Trump admin flex.

What do you all think the likelihood of a conviction is?

I’m guessing she will plea out.

Do think the Trump DoJ is even going to entertain a plea deal?

One that is heavy-handed, in favor of the government? Sure. It guarantees the conviction and also protects the judiciary from bad press. It is in the interests of the DOJ to not unnecessarily burn any bridges with the judiciary as a whole. Of course, I have been wrong plenty of times before.

So you would prefer the DoJ to forgo a guaranteed conviction in order to: 1. Rule out the possibility of a reduced sentence, or 2. Ensure the judge has to go through the most painful process possible even if results in no conviction?

While I’m concerned by the inherent risk of a jury trial, especially in a leftie pit like Wisconsin, I agree with Bill and believe this political tool needs to be made an example and incarcerated. Judges like this woman have become worse than the hyper-political mopes being elected to congress.

However, I expect she’ll skate on the charges and will be back to her irresponsible and illegal acts very soon.

I can see the DOJ not "throwing the book at her" if she is willing to accept a plea. As someone above said, the DOJ does not want to be on the bad side of the judiciary going forward.

If she gets sent to prison, will it be a prison in El Salvador? Asking for a friend.
