I’ve seen them on TV four times this season-the word that comes to mind is pesky. They just seem to keep hanging around. Clean hard nosed baseball on our part ought to get it done.
If I was Sully, and I am not, I would start Coppola on Thursday with Barlow ready after a few innings, Peterson on Friday and King on Saturday. That would get Peterson and King back into their normal rotation but does that really matter with post season play coming up? If the National Weather Service forecast is accurate we won't have the weather delays that have screwed up our starting pitching recently.
Uf doesn't have a ton of pitching depth....it would be beyond huge if they could somehow fight their way into hosting a regional. Playing an outmanned 4 seed instead of clawing it out vs a 2/3 seed should be much less taxing on the staff. That potential 4th/5th game in a regional is not a good place for uf These three games are huge for seeding
Bama is kind of pigeon holed themselves into the rotation this weekend. Bama reversed their rotation about 5 weeks ago after their first in the rotation starter LHP Adams had back to back bad weekends when they got run ruled at Auburn and at home verses Miss State. RHP Quick has been their 2nd rotation guy all season. Going into LSU week, Bama put Adams 3rd in the rotation and they won game 3, where he has remained and pitched very well. Last weekend at home facing Georgia, Saturday was a rain out so they played a DH on Sunday, which Quick and Adams started. Game 1 is on Thursday so it's very doubtful Bama would start either Adams or Quick after both pitched on Sunday. That leaves either of two arms that have struggled as of recent, RHP Fay or RHP Alcock, to start game 1. They both have in conference ERAs above 7. Point being, Coppola starting Thursday is good because we can counter with Peterson and King against their better two starters. It makes the whole series that much more intriguing.
87— Running our three starters out there as you’ve laid it out also keeps our guys on their same days rest as well as same routines. If it ain’t broke—don’t fix it. I know somebody very smart said that a long time ago and nobody’s yet disproved it.
One other pitching note... Watch out for their two main relievers, Ozmer and Myers. Ozmer leads the SEC in saves at 16 and Myers is their mid relief set up guy. They both have low ERAs, Ozmer 2.10 and Myers 2.57. We don't want to get behind before they make the move for these two.
I get your points and don’t disagree. For me, it doesn’t matter who they run out there when. Our hitters have to have the discipline to hit it where it’s pitched, drive the pitches they’re on, don’t chase breaking balls low and away or fastballs in their eyes. We establish this approach as a lineup and we give ourselves our best chance of winning games.

I agree with you but would put things in reverse order. I mutter expletives when they try to pull everything but scream at the TV when they chase pitches that out of the hand of the pitcher you can see they will be running away and almost in the dirt.
