(SB) Ongoing UF Softball Commentary

I do not and never will listen to a Mowins broadcast in any sport. I listen to Crooks on radio and sync the game on a muted tv with his broadcast. If it is Oklahoma versus anyone, or whatever, I simply go to The Varsity and pick one of the two radio broadcasts and sync it to the tv.

 

That's about a good a guess as anything the rest of us can come up with. Not quite the same thing but a year or two ago Duke had to play at UGA even though Duke was rated higher. The reason was because Duke's facility sucks, and still does.

Kinda the way she played. The luxury of having her as our #3 pitcher -- ah, those were the days.

She’s a basketball analyst. My limited research couldn’t find any softball games she’s called.

 

I think Jenny Dalton Hill is the worst of them all. And Danielle Lawrie is the best

 

Lawrie was fine with me until a month or so ago when she was calling one of our games. Kenleigh slid into home with her leg raised (spikes on) and clearly was trying to kick the ball out of the catcher's glove. Lawrie said on the air something to the effect "what a dirty play...she tried to intentionally hurt that player". IMO an inexcusable thing to say on the air both because she has no way of getting inside Kenleigh's head and second the replay clearly shows she was going for the glove and not the player.

Oh I must have missed that one. Yeah that's bad. That may have been her opinion but can't know it's a fact. Overall though I like her analysis. She's honest but fair. Usually

 

As my all time Gators, Amanda ranks up there with Danny, Steve and Tim. Her enthusiasm for being a Gator is about unmatched.

 

Agree 100%. I think Amanda is Coach Walton’s favorite as well.

 

So far. Let's wait on Taylor to finish her career.

 

Tim loved him some Michelle Moultrie too. I remember him actually welling up with tears talking about her.

 

Kendra has to be a close second. Isn't going to be the same when she is no longer roaming the outfield.

 

After meeting Taylor and talking to her in length and watching her play; she could move up the list really quickly.

 

Kendra, Skylar, Reagan and Katie have all moved up on my list.

 

So do I. No better analyst IMO. Unlike most, Mowins doesnt bother me. Guess Ive gotten used to her voice over the years. If she and Smith are doing your game, it's usually a big game. Just saying.

In reality, name any announcer and somebody doesnt like them. Im not a big fan of Mendoza or especially Lawrie. I usually just turn down the sound and watch. I typically like Amanda Scarborough (sp?) unless she is doing an Aggies game.
