By: Eric Fawcett -- May 12, 2025 We have reached the part of the basketball calendar where “Combine” season begins and players coming primarily from the college system go through a number of evaluation events to see if they could have a future at the NBA level. This season starts with the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament geared towards graduating seniors (where the Gators didn’t have anyone attend) before moving into the G League Elite Camp (the NBA’s developmental G League Combine) before the main event–the NBA Combine. My understanding is that that's part of the deal. Honest feedback. Something an agent is genetically incapable of.
I'd like to see Chinyelu's camp spend some money and hire a top-level big man coach to work with him one-on-one all summer. The guy has such a high ceiling.
Not at all. I think Coach Hartman does a very good job. But unless the rules have changed, the coaching staff has very limited time they can spend with the players in the offseason. A guy hired by the player, who now has big NIL money, can work with him eight days a week. Plus, there might be some things extra to be learned from someone outside the program.
The word you are looking for is "implying." The speaker implies, the listener infers. Just don't want fellow Gators sounding like Mutts.
