My dad was at Comiskey Park the opening day that Bob Feller of the Indians threw a no-hitter. He said that Feller threw the ball so hard that nobody could see it so the home plate blue must have been calling balls and strikes based on the sound of the pitch. A bit of an exaggeration, of course, but a very fast pitch has a pretty loud "hiss" and one might be able to locate the pitch by sound.
My wife had to go to her law office because they had a power outage and so doing a remote desktop (more secure than the one that you get with Windows) was down. Her practice is really busy right now. Victory margaritas will have to wait until she makes it home. They will be especially sweet and not because I ran out of simple syrup and had to make some from scratch. LOL.
Incredibly impressive what these kids have been able to pull off after that horrible and damn near unbelievable start. This is turning into a remarkable story. Come on, Gator Boys, stay hot!
What was the UF baseball team record before the basketball team won the National Championship and what is their record since that Monday night? Our baseball team was 20-14 before the basketball team cut down the nets in San Antonio. They are 15-4 since then. My son said that the Sportz Godz demanded a sacrifice to win the Hoops Natty and the Diamond Gators were the sacrificial offering. Once that was done, the Godz no longer demanded that sacrifice.
@wingtee is a Gator from so long ago that until he was out of school a long time we didn't even have a conference champion in football or basketball let alone a Natty. Heck, for a long time Georgia Tech had more SEC Basketball Tournament championships than we did.
Aiden was THE story of the game. A true freshman put in that situation and he delivered the way he did? DAMN! And I know this is a new and silly era, but if we get to keep him for another 2 years? Holy CRAP!!!
and it It was a long time coming when we got a SEC championship in either of those sports. A lot of Gators never got to see one. My kids were born in the late 80's and early 90's. They had no clue how spoiled they were being Gator fans.
And again, a repeat post: Can you imagine a team who is hosting a regional (Coastal Carolina?) and we are their 2nd or 3rd seed? Damn, talk about having lost sleep!!!
