I'm sure I could use instruction on every part of shooting a handgun because I suck. Starting with aiming. I cannot see the line on a pistol

 

The first and most important step to mastery is recognition of your lack. I sucked with a pistol but compensated for it with a rifle…that fired bullets that were 5 inches in diameter and came with a 55 ton carrier. You do you.

A short barrelled shotgun (yes I know not legal) is the best for home defense. Its hard to miss at relatively close range and it won't go through a wall and kill a family member if you miss.

They're legal, just have to pay an extra $200 and go through a much longer process. If you cut it down yourself, form 1's usually come back a lot faster than form 4's. You'd use a form 4 if you're buying one that's already built.

I went to the range w a law enforcement family member. He put the target out at like 7 ft and shot and shot while I was from 15 out to 30 and stuff. He asked why I did that and I said just seeing how accurate I was at the range. He nodded. I said why do you shoot so close and he said aim small. Pick a spot a keep drilling it at close range. That’s where it all happens and your aim will improve long range. I guess it’s a good idea.

But i dont usually get to shoot people and dove are much more elusive.

 

Pros and cons to this POV but I generally agree. I remind Mrs P in the event of a possible home invasion she sits in the bed with the shotgun pointed at the door and lets fly on anyone NOT ME that attempts entrance. Me?

 

Just needs to have an 18” barrel not to be a Title II weapon. Thats pretty short in my eyes. There is an overall length requirement too. Think it’s 28” if I recall without looking it up. But yes, that’s the damage dealer you’d want!

 

50’ is not that far and still handgun territory imo. When we shot for qualification we start out at 3’ from the target and work our way to 25 yards. 50’ is like me standing on one side of my yard and shooting to the other side. I’d still engage someone that far away with a pistol….might just need to aim a smidge higher
