Agree -- it's pretty bad. At least for the regular season, there are no reserved seats. When I went this year, I asked someone how early I needed to get there. "At least two hours if you want to sit down, more if you want a good seat." They weren't kidding. The line wraps around the adjacent soccer field and you bake in the Georgia sun waiting to get in. It is also farther away from campus than any stadium in the SEC or that we play at, for that matter. It's a good four miles from campus. We have it very good at KSP!
Patty Gasso absolutely has something that is hard to copy in her ability to motivate her players to dig deep within their self and their skilles and produce any times it means winning or losing a game.
Really disappointing. With OU down five, I was feeling pretty good that some of that smug would be wiped from their psyche. Unfortunately, now they have more reason to be smug.
I remember listening to a podcast before season started that Walton did not let her go on the recruiting trail her first year cause he wanted her to adjust to the coaching lifestyle. So she definitely is going to need to be on the recruiting trail for awhile. Also, I do think Shumaker can be NFOY. She started SEC play kinda slow and picked it up a lot the last few weeks but was not able to catch Edwards. Tossup between those two for NFOY. It'll probably depend on whose team goes further in the postseason
I do think with the amount of redshirt freshmen we see.... it should be separate or something. Because yes she went down with injury last year as did Nelly at OU....but that gave them a year, honestly more if you think about it with fall to get stronger, adjust to college life, and get ingrained in the program over what true freshies like Shumaker, Vanadagriff, Burnham, Annalea Adams and Garcia had. That's why the performances of the true freshmen are more impressive to me. Not taking anything away from the redshirts, jsut my personal feelings on it.
I will be very interested to see where the NCAA seeds the Gators Sunday night. We're definitely a Top 8 national seed, but match-ups in the Regionals and Supers are critical for us making it to Oklahoma City. Pitching has to improve or, as Bob Dylan said, "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere."
Yeah I see us anywhere from #3-#6 tbh. Don't think we are 1 or 2 as that will be OU and A&M. I think for supers the two teams I don't want to be paired up with at all are Texas Tech cause of Canady and UCLA because they have 3 really good arms. Anyone else I would be okay with especially since we will be at home.
We could get matched up with an SEC team we haven't faced yet, like Tennessee or South Carolina, although I think Tennessee will be a Top 8 seed as well. I agree that we won't be a Top 2 seed and I suspect Arkansas may be ahead of us. I'm think 5 or 6.
I wouldnt be surpised if we don't get matched up with South Carolina, Clemson, or Bama. Assuming we make it past a regional. Or Oregon. Actually. Texas tech may be our match
