Respectfully, I disagree. I support supporting the state of Israel, and perpetuating it, which requires arming them.

Their part of this compact is to avoid endeavors such as retaliating to clear terrorism with clearly excessive force, resulting in the deaths of probably over 50,000 largely civilians and the total destruction of Gaza. Obviously, Israel failed in their part of that bargain, and Biden failed to reign in the war criminal Netanyahu, who roped excessive retaliation to his political survival.

Equally obviously, the racist Trump Administration, which supports both white-supremacists and sympathizers of the *unspeakable European regime of the 1930's and 40s* has no concern whatsoever for human life, righteousness or a lasting solution. They just view the conflict in bits and pieces, trumpeting whatever will plausibly give them more cheap political support.

And so here we are; zero immediate solution achieved, the conflict set to grow deeper roots, and Trump supporters bandying about name-calling anyone sensitive to the deaths of Palestinian civilians as "antisemitic."

Sad, yes. But we're in the shallow, criminal, trolling world of the Trump Era. It's what we voted for, after all.

So you are equating two different things

    - in the case of Israel - either citizens or military members illegally perpetuating a violent act, the act is then reported (or confirmed ) to the public by Israeli officials and applicable parties being held accountable

    - in the case of HAMAS - sanctioned and intentional terroristic violence for the sake of the violence itself as a tactic perpetuated by the ruling body.

Not to mention that Israel's blockade is entering into the third month. No food, fuel, or medical supplies have been let in. They are literally starving people.

In the past I had more sympathy for this view. Yes, there is a long history and with any history there are no saints. One only has to look at US history.

But at this point the existence of Israel issue has been settled.

Attempts at a 2 state solution have been continually rejected by Palestinians.

Palestinians refuse to accept the existence of Israel, period.

Israel is the only functioning democracy in the region, and the only country that generally shares our values. They are the only functioning economy that isn’t propped up by oil wealth.

It’s pretty obvious that any governing body set up by Palestinians would become either a theocracy, terrorist organization or failed state.

One can be crtitical of Israeli tactics, or critical of Netanyahu or more broadly their right wing Zionists, but the issues with them aren’t even in the same ball park of problems with Palestinians. I don’t like MAGA, and I also don’t like ISIS, but I don’t equate the two of them.

Isreal isn't going anywhere. Nor should it. It has a right to exist. Once Palestinians accept this as fact, then maybe there will be a 2-state, peaceful solution.

As for using the phrase ethnic cleansing, I believe fear of a word or name only increases its power. And regardless of if I use the phrase or not, Palestinian sympathizers are going to use it.
