This sounds nice, but business doesn't always work that way. There's no guarantee it would even be the same AD in place when Walton does retire. Not saying anybody's information is wrong, just that it is prudent to have tempered expectations with stuff like this. Information that's accurate today isn't always applicable for tomorrow.

True. Could be a different AD. Even so, for a minor sport and a plan put in place by Tim and approved by the current administration, it is highly unlikely to be overturned even with a new AD. One less headache for a new AD.

Lol....hiring staff with experience as head coaches as assistants is generally a good thing. Nick Saban made a living doing that.
Building a staff comprised of veteran coaches (like former head coaches) mixed with a younger fresh face is a great way to assemble a diverse unit. Uf wasn't a "last chance" for anybody he has hired fyi....that's silly

A new AD is not going to buck the choice of a Hall of Fame coach as to his successor in a “minor” Gators sport like softball.

Many seem to think that Thomas sucks as a hitting coach so why not?

All I can say to this is where are the coaches Saban hired now. Where is McDonald-Kelley, Where is Rocha. Where is the coaches that were hired at Florida. I wasn't being critical, just pointing out a fact.

Did Wise not want her assistant to take over?

You changed my mind with this post. Volleyball is a much lesser sport than softball (one-quarter the TV ratings) and yet Dave Boos, loved by everyone especially the players, kicked to the curb.

Rocha is the heir apparent at her alma mater OU.
Fwiw, plenty of Saban assistants have returned to the HC ranks for better or worse, Sark, Kiffin, Cristobal, etc .

Rocha certainly deserves it. Losing her stunk to put it lightly. However I always figured gasso would hand the reigns to one of her sons.

I know this will not be viewed favorably but I like Courtney Diffle?
The Arkansas coach when Tim retires.
She has built their program from the ground up. Been very impressed with the kind of players she’s recruited.

She’s incredible and has done wonders in Arkansas but she’s not going to leave what she’s so recently built. She’ll probably be the coach in Arkansas until she retires as a probably hall of famer.

Keep the faith Gator Fans. When we won our first WCWS in 2014, we were one and done in the SEC tournament. So we are still in good shape to win it all. We just rest some, work on hitting those change ups, and continue on improving in our fielding, and eliminate the errors. We have proven that we can do this.

I like her a lot. Arky is scary good and I think they get over the hump this year and make it to OKC

Again she’s great but I don’t see her ever leaving. Besides I love the idea of Enea being our next coach. Bonus with Enea besides being a former Gator great player she wasn’t college roommates with present hitting coach so everyone will be happy when she hires someone else lol.

We can beat the best and win a Natty or lose to a mid major team. Jekyll and Hyde this season and I’ve given up trying to figure it out. Hopefully we win it all! I’ll be watching, cheering, scaring my dog yelling at the tv, wishing Beth mowins would shut up and let Michelle Smith talk instead. Go Gators!

4-5 years away from retirement old? Still relevantly young imo and nobody is wanting him to leave except probably other SEC coaches lol.
