And that's what the analytics were saying at the time. Auburn had an insane Ken Pom rating at that point. They came down to Earth after losing that game and then going on to lose their last two in the regular season. To win the NCAA Tournament, you only have to be the best team at the end of the season.
Zona in Vegas Arizona, Florida finalizing agreement to headline opening night doubleheader in Las Vegas alongside BYU/Villanova
If we get Condo and The Chins back, i'll like our chances to win vs. their true freshmen frontcourt in Cameron.

Given that the SEC went out of their way to announce they had noticed that people were upset about Florida-UK not being played twice in a press release, I think we can probably pencil in UK as one of the 2-game teams.
I read somewhere that for those last two games, Bruce tried experimenting with a few different wrinkles and schemes to possibly incorporate during the tournament. As the article pointed out, its a risky move because a team is usually in a zone/rhythm at the end of the year if they're clicking. Doing that is essentially asking them to take their foot off the gas. While they did manage to get traction again as they made the final four, it never did feel full throttle again.
Not to mention the refs were clearly trying to hand North Carolina the game last year and we still took it.
I never see this anywhere - and it's just coming from my admittedly amateur research - but I think we're the only team to beat both UNC and Duke in the same NCAA tournament (2000)
Orleans Arena - an interesting spot for a game. I went to the first game vs. W. Kentucky, but did not make the Kansas final. Flew back Sat AM for the USC/Notre Dame game in LA - and watched us beat FSU during our tailgate. UF also played vs. Gonzaga in the tourney in PHX, but never played in S. Cal - which is strange considering we don't really shy away from anyone in hoops. I also saw UF gymnastics at UCLA and UF softball at Long Beach State. Ran into the UF Men's tennis team at a restaurant across the street from USC once as well!
My first year teaching at UF we beat the other USC (Southern Cal) in Gainesville in football. I watched the game at a colleagues house in Buckingham (west of Tower Road) and it took me FOREVER to drive home to just a bit SE of downtown. IIRC we tied them the next season in LA.
