It really warms my heart that Florida is once again right back in the spotlight with Gatorade marketing and commercials. Recently Lagway was included in a Gatorade ad and the latest Gatorade commercial once again recounts the '65 Gators right along some of the biggest faces in sports.

You can argue whether our football team or basketball teams are bluebloods but there is no doubt we are a blue blood, OG, absolute titan of a brand. Just pretty neato.

Makes me forget for a quick second that "Bing-bop-boom-boom-boom-bop-bam" is the dumbest lyric in the history of music.

I was hoping to see the 2025 men's college basketball National Champions in the video.

They were a little premature with their featuring what turned out to be a 5th round draft choice.

there’s two versions, I think. In the one above, it doesn’t include the audio clip of Dr Cade saying “naturally, we called it Gatorade”. The one I see on tv all the time, it does include Dr Cade. Not sure why that is.

Well to be fair he's still a good investment for them. Will be one of the most talked about 5th rounders in history.

For now. If he doesn't make the roster there will be lots of talk, but not in a good way.

Still Gatorade has egg on its face. They must have consulted with that Kiper clown as to who was a 1st round draft choice.

I feel like there's a bit of unnecessary vindictiveness here. Not only is he definitely going to make the team but I don't see how Gatorade has egg on their face because he slid in the draft. Polarizing is not the same as toxic.

I guess its a fair question: Because I dislike the walking clown show that his Father is (not to mention Nole-ness), should I dislike his kid? I have no reason to dislike him other than reports are that he seems to have inherited(learned) some of his Father's distasteful character flaws and also seems to believe that since he was born on 3rd base that he must have hit a triple.

How you are sure he will make the team? They seem to have quite the list of QB's including a new, higher drafted QB. Personally I wouldn't be surprised to see them cut the one that ends up behind the other in the pecking order and it would cost a lot more to cut a 3rd rounder than a 5th.

As far as Gatorade is concerned, they typically pay for Superstars rather than wannabes to be spokespersons. I'm sure they weren't anticipating their latest hire to free fall to the 5th round in the draft. I may have to eat crow, but I suspect that these will be the last Gatorade commercials we will see Shedeur Sanders in.

Yeah I guess I'm just thinking there is definitely more sports drink competition than ever before and Vitamin Water did an outstanding job marketing to urban and sports watching youth. Especially considering it's 100% basically a soft drink without carbonation. They may not have the pick of the litter like they used to.

Not to mention, you can almost go through who they did select and pick out different demographics they're trying to appeal to. For example they didn't put Caitlin Clark on there to help sell to inner city Chicago sports fans. They didn't put Shadeur on there to appeal to rural Floridians.

Not only do they have an incentive to pick from a broad cross section of athletes, they probably have to take what they can get here and there from the most famous names.

I guess I don't know for sure he's going to make the team but he is going to make an NFL team. I think he's quite good but just needs to grow up and probably get away from his Dad like it would appear his brother is trying to do.

making the team is not definitive, Gatorade should have waited for a 1st round selection (EOF), and polarizing is toxic.

Not if they pulled that version of the ad. I'm guessing they already did and now show a different edit.

I guess if they wanted to guarantee the money they invested is wasted. All of these responses just seem with vindictiveness painted on, and with the bias that seeing him won't sell you Gatorade. Him dropping in the draft did not burn his marketability to the ground.

This is coming from someone who went to UF and CU, and can't stand any of the Sanders. But, I could list 20 pro athletes that are reportedly awful people. We hear about Sanders the most because of the hype and hate around him, and whether we like it or not, that sells. Especially if you want to give a "is it in you [to prove the haters wrong / take on the world]" type message.
