Wow, the pot calling the kettle black. Now THAT is original.

Is that your usual move, or did you forget the old and reliable "I know you are, but what am I?"

How about “I can do anything you can do better.” Is that more your speed?

I don't think you need 50 or 60 but your point is 100% accurate. In reality I think you need maybe 5-8 impact players in each recruiting class of say 25 players. That would give you 20 -32 impact players on the roster at any one point. That means you are getting 15 or so players taken in the NFL draft with a number of first rounders, like OSU, UGAG and TX. That gets you to the playoffs and a shot at a natty.

Two deep at almost every position play plenty of snaps, then kickers, snappers, return guys.....about 50 needed to play a game and injuries go right past those numbers.

I don’t think anybody here is “accepting losing to Texas. Georgia, and Bama every single year”

Nope but if they get five 5*'s and we get none, we just going to have to be disappointed alot.

What TG has done in 3 yrs is incredible to the point of amazing. He took a very average bb team and without 5 star players worked his magic into a championship team. Each yr making improvements. His hiring assistants and game time adjustments were on point. Competition was insane and yet he won.

In contrast, BN was handed just about everything imaginable. Two bad seasons and a minor bowl win his third year is still underwhelming. But I'll take a 9 win season and hopefully an offense that scores in bunches, play calling that converts third downs, and no more momentum busters.

I wonder what our roster would rank talent and experience wise if there was a legit ranking? I just want to play to or above that mark.

So just so we are clear- your position is that we must make the SEC championship game for CBN to keep his job??
And winning a natty just gets him to neutral??
All because Golden did an incredible job (which he did) and basketball and football are so comparable??

No one- NO ONE- is defending our quite mediocre performance vs Arky, Vandy, and others.
If that was the whole story- he should be gone.

But after the debacle vs TAMU, we actually did pretty well last year.
We won some games vs. good teams, and we only lost to playoff teams.
OH- and we played even vs 2 of those playoff teams for 55-60 minutes.
    With a 2nd or 3rd string QB....

He has the pieces to succeed. That is a given. Lagway can take a middling + team to even greater heights if he is the real thing (and all indications are he is). Now, can s__t happen? absolutely. And in many instances, you get a pass for things that run contrary to conventional wisdom. The problem is rather simple, if you or anyone is paying attention. He is Round 4 after Urban. And no one seems to have solved the problem. And his post-loss banter leaves a LOT to be desired. The fans are restless. It IS the flavor of the hour. Now is there real hope? Yeppers. In spades.

Question, what happens when you have this frustration built over the years and you see what you believe are inferior programs being more successful and on similar tracks and then Napier hits what appears to be a ceiling that is too low? If I had to make a guess, you want to say "one more year and he will get it" and I say "not so fast my friend." If you see his m.o. in earnest, he wants his masterpiece to be complete and not buggy. And that is either a testament to his convictions or a testament to his obliviousness to the job requirements or his stubbornness. As I have posted plenty of times, I believe he is EXACTLY what the Grand Pooba's want in a HC during the damn bad mess known as major college football, 2020's style.

And I want that too. It is just that I get the game and it isn't for the weak-kneed. It just isn't. Personally speaking, I like Mike White. I truly do. But he was given plenty of time to figure out how to power through his ceiling and he did not (and probably won't either at UGa). Heck, I would like Mus-take (a ka, "little willie") as a HC at a Bama-Birmingham level but he chooses to be an loud-mouthed ass and be a minion to Smart. His choice. My point is, this program and fans are level-headed and enthusiastic but they are realistic. And they know what their eyes see and not what the "experts" tell them. This is Napier's "show me" season, one year late. It just is.

Question, why do you or anyone else think that past performance (or lack there of) has no value in the present? That is too much tied to naivety and/or a desire for blind optimism and not discernment. I prefer the discernment route. Are you truly going to shrug at the Arkansas game in Year 2 or the Miami game in Year 3? I got news for you, you have that right but I am here to tell you that you are way, WAY in the minority. This is all fun blather in the silly season. But when the bullets are flying, a game or two like those manifesting in Year 4 with this team and with Lagway is going to end his tenure. It WILL end it.....unless we are going to become Vandy. That is a distinct possibility but I say be careful for what you wish for, because you just may get it. These fans WILL rebel, both in sound and fury and with their wallets. And so yes, we CAN be just like Vandy. Sounds like fun, huh?

I am not sure how many "noble losses" Napier can survive. I realize the schedule is tough, but not for this team's makeup. Does he have what it takes to push through to real success (and not of the Butch Jones variety) or will he hit his limit? We shall see. And if that makes me a downer because I think and you feel, then so be it.
