What is interesting about all of the outrage is Trump would need to beef up his resume if he wanted to be the worst Pope in history...even if we assume everything he has been accused of is true. The Houthis then announced on March 12 a resumption of attacks with immediate effect. In response, Mr Trump said he ordered a series of air strikes on the Houthi-held areas in Yemen, promising to use "overwhelming lethal force" until the rebels ceased their attacks on shipping along the vital maritime corridor. "Our brave Warfighters are right now carrying out aerial attacks on the terrorists' bases, leaders, and missile defenses to protect American shipping, air, and naval assets, and to restore Navigational Freedom," Mr Trump said in a social media post. FWIW, this might be more calculated than most of us realize. What I’ve come to realize about Trump is he’s learned the leftist media/statecraft of controlling the media narrative in the news cycle when it is to his advantage. This is a distraction that changes the topic of the conversation from tariffs and the economy to something else. Many people interpret Trump’s actions through the prism of their own projections of what they have been told he is. A fundamentalist like commitment to political narratives can render people blind to what is truly happening. Trump’s PR moves are sometimes well calculated and done with very intentional reasons. I don’t think this one is any different. The MSM (and Trump haters in general) often chase Trump’s diversions allowing him to change the subject to something else that is more advantageous for him.
While I’m less likely to subscribe to Trump being a master of 4d chess you are correct his tactics of throwing endless shit against the wall can distract from his more important colossal screw ups - like tariffs.
