(VB) Ongoing Volleyball Thread 2025

Don't think the drop off will be that great, Byrd is pretty physical herself, and probably a better defender, I thought Martin was a bad defender (slow).
Looks like Flo has 1 OH hitter nailed down, let's see who gets the 2nd, plenty of options.
Middles and setters are Good 2 Go.
Losing KM won't be the thing that holds us back, that's still passing.

She was a 2025 DS/L recruit who enrolled in January.

 

Super disappointed, but not mad. Very different scenario than Beason’s departure. Could have been the GOAT of UF volleyball, but I’m sure the $$$ couldn’t be ignored .

 

Even before all the portal/NIL stuff, I always felt it was fair game for kids to change schools whenever there was a coaching change. I wouldn't presume that it's about money if there's other factors that could be at play, just my two bits. Best of luck to Kennedy so long as her interests don't conflict with ours.

That's my opinion, yes.

 

I guess we will never know. And I know you didn't ask me, but I suspect if Wise was still here, other schools may not have bothered to inquire, assuming she wasn't going anywhere. Once Wise retired, anyone of "value" on our team probably received calls from other schools.
