I 100% think we should have fired Mullen but I will forever wonder what could have been if all the NIL stuff started a few years before we hired him instead of the other way around. He wasn't always a disorganized, lazy recruiter. He arrived in Gainesville and that entire summer was us all fawning over him flying all over the country recruiting. The original problem is he's just grating, awkward, and not someone that will ever be able to walk into a living room like Smart or Fisher does and do the ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves routine. The problem is he is too much of an ego maniac to change and just blamed the school for not giving him enough resources. But oh man Mullen with a top level budget might have been able to do some stuff. He could just focus on football and we hire a GM that handles the business meetings. Will be very interesting to see what he does at UNLV. Certainly enough money in that area.
Sure there is money there, but in many ways he's gonna have to go get it and with his awkward interpersonal skills that isn't going to go over any better than recruiting did. Charlie Pell, he ain't.
He is an offensive wizard, no doubt although I question his talent evaluation abilities considering the Trask v. Franks choice. That should've been a no-brainer and the players admitted it after the fact too.
Hes not as smart as he thinks he is. I try to teach my kids some selfawareness. The guy that thinks he tge smartest guy in the room seldom is. Its much better to be dumb like a fox.
