Could you imagine being an owner and having dion on national tv questioning your organization's decision making? That...... all for your backup qb. Shadeur has just as good of chance as most of grasping the nfl game and being a starter as many who do have a job but is it worth the baggage. No owner or coach wants drama . He went late because of that. His best way forward is to be all business and stay out of the media. 100% football and nothing else.

And thats who was willing to spend a fifth rounder on him. Everybody else passed four times.

Lawrence Phillips was the number six overall draft pick with well known (serious) issues. If Sanders had the talent someone would have taken the chance.

Mel Kiper projecting him a first round pick doesn't make him a legitimate first round pick. There's a reason that Mel doesn't work for an NFL team. He doesn't know much more about the draft than your regular guy, who fanatically watches everything NFL, that you'd meet in a sports bar.

Kiper is an absolute clown and he showed his ass over draft weekend. His own coworkers had to shut him up. I wouldn’t be shocked to learn he was on daddy Deion’s payroll to get sanders hyped up.

as much as I hate Miami, I feel bad for cam ward. Incredible story and it should have been his draft but he was completely overshadowed by the circus.

More qualified football evaluators than I, only bat about 30 percent on which qbs make it in the nfl. First round busts are as common as late round heroes. I give sanders a slightly less than 30 percent chance of making it.

I think nfl drafters were happy to allow the press to go gaga over sanders. I think they hoped someone else would pick him earlier than they thought he was worth and maybe a better player would fall to them.
