There's a mod called college basketball reborn (works best on RPCS3/PC emulation) that recently released a tourney edition mod (and updated rosters for the tourney). If anyone else still plays and is interested in modding their copy (there is a way on the PS3 as well but its much harder - they are currently attempting an Xbox mod but its harder and they do what they can with their all volunteer hobby staff) I can post up discord links for people to get the mod files and instruction video.
The best sports video game ever....still playing on an xbox360....which I've replaced three or four times. The depth of this game is what makes it great. If you're a dedicated button masher you'll be disappointed in the actual playing of the game, but if you're into more of the management side of sports....this is the best game out there.
Yeah I bought like 4-5 copies for the 360 before I transitioned over to PS3 emulation for almost everything that came out for both consoles. Neither NCAA basketball 10 or College Basketball 2K8 were available on the live store. Only NCAA "March Madness Edition" which was a stripped down, tourney only version of NCAA Basketball 08 - which meant no career mode and no Florida as only teams that made the tourney that year were available and EA's College basketball franchise was putrid compared to the 2K one. All in all, much happier emulating it. Plus the built in up-rendering to 4K is nice.
The emulation piece is beyond my understanding.... I've read about it at length in a different forum but don't have the tech knowledge to do it.
Honestly man, just do it and don't worry about how it works unless you want to get deeper into it later. RPCS3 makes it really easy (NOTE: For legal reasons, I am only providing the following advice for people who want a legal digital copy of media they already own a physical copy of) 1. Download game (Vimm's lair I believe has 2K8 for the PS3) 2. Download RPCS3 3. Open RPCS3, go to file>add game. Select the folder that contains the game files. 4. Run the game by just double clicking on in it in the menu. Any PS4/PS5 controller will work, as will Xbox one/Series controllers. 360/PS3 can work. Wired 360 works no problem, but wireless PS3 and 360 need an adapter IIRC.
