Trump Appointee Has Ties to Person of Unspeakable Beliefs

He was a member of the KKK back in 1946, seven years before he was elected to Congress. He also opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as did every Senator from the South including both Senators from Florida (Holland and Smathers). That being said Robert Byrd did change and received an award from the NAACP. Also let's not forget that in 2022 the Democrats in Congress tried to enact a law strengthening the Voting Rights Act. It was blocked by the Republicans who have become the new Dixiecrats.
