No doubt it would be crazy to to think a Democrat could win in that knuckle dragging district, but as a whole Florida is pretty evenly divided with a large number of NPA’s which you conveniently left out. Year 2025 Republican Party of Florida = 5,635,743 Florida Democratic Party = 4,437,884 Minor Parties = 424,809 No Party Affiliation Total 3,696,621

Early voting started today. Jimmy Patronis the republican is going to slam dunk all over the democrat Gay Vallimont. It's just what we do in NW Florida, one of the deepest red areas of the state. Any other result would be a shocker. [/QUOTE] EDIT: Voter Registration - By Party Affiliation - Division of Elections - Florida Department of State Jimmy Patronis (R) won the special election by 14%, no big surprise in an off-election time. The democratic socialists put on the full court press in two US House special elections but were unsuccessful losing by almost identical margins. March 31, 2025 Republicans 5,635,771 Democrats 4,424,888 Difference 1,210,883 Month Over Month +13,024 Again, NPA votes majority republican and has for years/decades. How is that possible? I thought polls show trumps approval ratings are down and therefore i would expect more people going democrat. Either that or the polls are wrong although I doubt that since they have Kamala winning
Obviously not the only or even the primary explanation, in states with closed party primaries (like Florida) some voters register as members of the dominant party so that they can vote in primaries. If one isn't a registered Republican in a lot of counties or Congressional districts in Florida he or she is effectively excluded from determining the candidate who would most likely win the general election. Surprised me when I moved to Virginia that the state doesn't have party registration. Voters declare party preference when they vote in a primary and are given a ballot for the party of their preference. While a voter cannot vote the primaries of both parties at the same time it's possible to vote in different party primaries in different elections. Although I usually vote Democrat I voted for Nikki Haley in the 2024 Republican presidential primary. I don't know whether I would have voted for her in the general election but I can say with absolute certainty that we would be far better off had she been elected in 2024 than we are with the current corrupt incompetent clown in the White House.
