I see the folks following, but I don't understand why. Please explain as I'm apparently woefully uninformed. Thanks.

EDIT: Since she is a UK alum and playing pro ball, might this be an incoming coach for UF softball?

Gator Softball Graduate Assistant! Welcome aboard Erin!

 

There have been several very bold announcements from college stars who are moving to a new school as GA over the past month or so. Tennessee was one. I think Duke another and there have been several others. For two months I have been checking Erin's social media accounts every morning to see if she would announce. While she didn't publicly announce it quite as boldly as some of the others, sometime between yesterday morning and this morning, she changed her profile and added Gators Softball GA, so that's just as public as posting a huge graphic in a new uniform as others have done. She is currently in Chicago with one week left in Athletes Unlimited. A couple of us found out about this a couple months ago but were sworn to keep it secret until it was public, which is now. At that time I thought it would be fun to hold a little contest where everyone could provide their wildest guesses as to who it might be. I said then that nobody would get it right. That it is a great choice. And offered to spice up the contest with a prize of $25 since I was confident nobody would get it. Nobody actually did with a wild guess. However, gator2000 posted shortly thereafter that "I have heard it is Erin Coffel". While getting information and posting it as opposed to a wild guess wasn't my intention, I'm not going to welch so if gator2000 will send me a PM with full name and mailing address, I'll send a check for $25. Anyway, I think this a superb choice that will greatly benefit our infield development.

lol....seems like a lot of folks around here need glasses....I didn't think it would be that difficult to figure it out. I was just going to let everyone stew until someone noticed her profile but ufgatorsb72 kind of blew it with the @gatorssb GA post. And he pretty much noticed it because I privately told him she had come out and announced.

 

I am so glad we can now, finally, talk about Erin coming on board. What a great get. A fierce competitor. All-SEC type shortstop who knows the SEC like the back of her hand after spending her entire career in it. Playing pro with Athletes Unlimited. Member of the USA National team. Tim, once again, has proven he can not only recruit elite level high school kids but with the addition of Francesca, Prothro and now Erin....he can do it with coaches too.
