Havent gone through CLT in a couple years. Is the construction done yet? The tarmac boarding in the rain was lame..

I generally do Delta from ILM anyway, but did use AA through CLT for work at one point.

That’s most likely because flying out of Charlotte you were numb to the relatively poor service of US Air and probably didn’t realize how poor they were relative to AA and Delta.

    I fly over 40 trips/year on multiple air lines. I used to rank them(pre merger, best to last) ;
    Delta
    AA
    Southwest
    United
    US Air
( with United far below Southwest and US Air far below United)

Had to fly Spirit and Frontier a few times and it was like taking a Greyhound.

    Now it’s

    Delta
    Southwest
    United
    AA

AA’s efficiency, politeness/professionalism of attendants and gate crews, and maintenance all became much more like US Air after the merger.

Since Covid they have all have suffered but AA was noticeable even before.

I was a united guy when I lived in Boulder and they were OK. Living in Atl for the last decade or two and I am def loving Delta.

So they won't let me disable the smoke detectors in the crapper and now I have to have someone watch me take a dump in a too small toilet? Flying sucks.

The construction looks like it has about 2 decades left :) but there is no boarding from the tarmac unless you are flying private from the Wilson terminal. That must have been a short term issue as I cant remember that as an issue.

JD Power agrees with you but I have Southwest really low on my list and AA higher. I do get frequent upgrades on AA and that might be my experience difference. AA is below Alaska and their planes are literally falling apart.

I've flown back and forth a. number of times from London to Portugal and to Germany on Ryan with no problems.

I've flown it too, I had to put a bunch of crap on my lap because they wanted to be fascists about their bag weight rule, even though literally the same weight was being brought onto the plane, whether it was crammed on my bag or in a pile on my lap. I suppose I could have paid another $40 or whatever but screw them. :) But hey, it was cheap.

In my limited experience, the smaller airlines overseas are 2x better than US major carriers.
I did a 50 min flight on a Thai carrier and they did a full on meal service with drinks in coach. Vegan meal, no problem sir. Plus the crew was smoking hot. I mean, distractingly hot.

Southwest? Jesus. Looks like all people need to be satisfied with their coach experience is not knowing where they are going to sit and have flight attendants that act like they are in a cult.

'The 9yo, as a vagina-possessing person, should have known better; it's her own fault' is what AA is essentially saying.

    Not a good look.

Yeah, wouldn't have gone over well with the crew or the wife. But even my wife noticed how gorgeous they were.

And how does paying for the weight solve the supposed problem of either too much weight or weight not properly stored?

It was when they had several AA gates closed a couple years back. Definitely appeared temporary. I was heading out west iirc

My experience has been that the US carriers definitely but their best foot forward for their international flights as compared to their domestic flights. It is a night and day difference all around, on time, food, service, amenaties, etc.
