If it's what it looks like, any prosecutor with at least one brain cell would understand that the world's #1 golfer probably didn’t get to #1 status by being a pushover. I still haven't seen a crime - at all. And if it was anything like what's in the police report, there is zero chance they would let him out so quickly to make his tee time. You don't drag a cop for 30 feet with your vehicle and bail out in 90 minutes. I don't care who you are. More than likely, his attorney invoked the wrath of god if he wasn't immediately released and all of this is an effort to save what face the PD has left. What an ugly incident.

Video is out. You can clearly see the ‘detective’ running up to the car and bang on on window. He was not dragged 6 inches. Dude needs to be fired.

 

Now imagine this situation X1000 when the "perp" isn't rich, white or famous.

 

Ironically, one of the BLM causes was seeking to fix police behavior, which would actually benefit people of all races. I am grateful for the work that police do, but they need to get this part of their profession cleaned up. If dude wasn’t wealthy, he damn well could still be locked up and facing serious jail time, lost his job, and his record ruined. All because a cop got emotional and overcharged him.

Agree 100%. Think police should be wearing body cameras when on active duty. Turn off when they finish their shift. Think it protects not only the public but also the police.

Probably so but I still fail to see how Scheffler dragged the cop 30 feet at the speed he was going. He was turning into Valhalla so it's not like he could get away. Something does not add up all the way around.

 

Local law enforcement can be a tough, thankless job at times. When these events go viral ….. I always wonder how many encounters are the between local LEOs and how many are poorly/improperly handled by LEOs. I’m sure many “bad encounters” never go viral …. and I expect many complaints against LEOs lack any merit.

 

Thank you. I try hard not to be race baiter. I bring it up when applicable, but not just to do it. In this case, I think that it’s obvious that it wasn’t a racial incident. His ability to beat the charges will be determined by wealth and fame, not race.

 

Yeah man, and I didn’t want to be political by mentioning BLM. Thanks to my conservative friends for not baconing me into oblivion. We need better policing for all Americans regardless of race or ethnicity. White people also get their rights violated. I remember that one white man, Daniel Shaver, who while in a hotel hallway was pleading for his life and the cop basically executed him. The cop was acquitted. I was just as upset about that as I was about George Floyd.

 

Yes, I think all can agree that we want the police to be above board but just like any profession there are bad cops out there. Think body cameras are a good way to protect everyone involved. Leaves less of He said/she said.

 

I wish we could bring up the George Floyd thread so we could compare the right wingers reactions there and here….but let’s not discuss race.
