I don’t believe any FL attorneys are shaking in their boots based on this claim. I think this ends with more egg on the face Rashada and Ruiz after CBN and the attorney are cleared. This is just Kirby trying to get recruiting fodder and the news reel off of the driving in Athens.

Adding to the "coincidences" . . . summer recruiting is about to heat up. Hmmmmm.

Obviously when you don't get your way, you sue. Seems a little late in the day to file this lawsuit (without knowing the statute of limitations).

After this he should hope to never play against the Gators.

I understand that, but it involves the institution's image. So, ... get er' done!

Uh-huh, I'm getting it. Since Kirby's alleged blessing, if that's even true!

Not sure I understand. If the collective, Hathcock and Rashada signed a deal, then everyone should have gone through with their commitments. If nothing was signed by everyone, then there is no deal and either party can do what they want.

Rashada is just another example of a player who will never amount to anything because of his father. His greed and lack of character will doom this guy because it's all about himself guided by his father.

This is an important point: was there a written deal, signed by all parties? If so, it would have been attached to the complaint filed in federal court, yet no mention of such a contract is made.

While verbal contracts are binding, any agreement to be performed over a period longer than one year is required to be in writing under Florida's Statute of Frauds. If there is no written agreement, Rashada is going to be in a world of hurt.

From the looks of it, his attorney threw a bunch of stuff against the wall to see what sticks, and also to generate publicity to coerce a settlement.

$26 dollar bond? I guess that's better than releasing him on his own recognizance.

After reading the articles about it, its not 100% clear to me if anything was ever signed by everyone. From the ESPN article linked earlier (emphasis added):

That paragraph says Rashada signed a contract. Doesn't say the collective signed it but I don't think they would need to send a letter terminating it if they didn't ever sign it. The previous paragraph also says the Athletic reviewed that contract and provided some details of it, so it appears the 13M$ contract was a real thing. But I agree with you, if there was a contract signed by all parties, the lawsuit would start with that.

Every contract I've ever signed or had signed, had an exit clause. I have to imagine this one did too. They will settle and the Rashada's will become very wealthy.

Based on this, I hope it goes to discovery and court. Would love to see Rashada and his peepaw end up with crap all over their faces.

If he turns out to not be very good, this might be his only shot to make some money. (unless he is going to be pre med or engineering or something)

Allegedly, the contract could be terminated for cause, but the collective didn't provide a cause when it was terminated. That probably bodes well for Rashada.
