When we went to Nashville, it was Coppola vs. Holton, Game 2. Holton: 7 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 10 K, 110 P Coppola: 1.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 HBP, 48 P Holton threw on Friday, but he only threw 20 pitches. It's worth pointing out that he hasn't been very good since he played against us. 10.80 ERA, 2.55 WH(+HBP)IP, 1 3B in 13.1 IP, 4 starts. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Considering we didn't have a midweek game last week and the weekend was basically all hands on deck, I can't imagine anyone pitching more than 3 innings in a single game at the SEC tournament.
Hopefully, we want to face somebody that’s going to get us ready for Regionals. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Cunningham a real good pitcher. Rudner on other site feels Coppola will be limited as in leeway given. Reading between the lines, they’ll have someone ready at first sign of trouble. Can’t get down early.
The more I think about it, so do I. - SEC has 6 locks (UTK, UK, TAMU, Arky, MsSt, Georgia) - Also has 2 near-locks (USC, Bama). The 2 near-locks play each other, so even a 1-and-done doesn't hurt either team that much. That's 8 in. - If LSU goes 1-and-done to Georgia, that won't hurt LSU much because: (1) Georgia's the #6 RPI in the country. Bubble teams are supposed to lose to bubble-national-top-8 about, what, 70% of the time? (2) They're LSU: the defending national champion, a baseball blue blood, and probably will make any regional a sell-out. Do anybody really think there's a chance LSU gets left out? That's 9 in. So, whoever loses UF-Vandy is the #11 in the SEC pecking order and that's a really dicey position.
Cunningham's H/A splits in conference play: Home: 1.87 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, .144 BAA, ~6.2 IP per start Away: 11.37 ERA, 2.21 WHIP, .341 BAA, ~3.2 IP per start Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Isn't this Vandy's season in a nutshell, world beaters at home, and terrible on the road? I wonder what they could of been doing at home, that would give them such an advantage....
