I know the spring transfer portal closed yesterday but from I understand players did not have to sign with their new teams yesterday. I saw in 247 Sports that the number 7 ranked player in the portal - Offensive Lineman Jason Zandamela out of USC west - is showing as a 100% projected commit to the Gators. Any news on this? Also, I know Cormani Mclain is still out there and the word on him is sketchy. However, this guy was the #1 CB out of HS last year and we were close to signing him. Any possibility we take a chance on this guy?
McClain will end up at a small school. The kid and his people don't get it. He is not getting any offers but still signed with an NIL representative company. Rather then show he is willing to work, he shows he wants the money. Colorado CB transfer Cormani McClain signs NIL representation
Thank you all for your insight. I look forward to Zandamela joining the team. I agree we need help on the O-Line. I also agree that MCclain is a risk we shouldn't pursue. I hope for his sake he gets his head out of his A%$ and prove to everyone what the hype out of high school was all about. Go Gators!!

Well, Cormani is coming over to the good guys! I guess he finally saw the light and decided it was better to stay close to home than go chase a pipe dream in Colorado. I know that most of the response to my thread -including myself - thought Cormani would not be a good fit. But I think it says a lot about CBN and the staff that he was willing to accept a non-scholarship walk-on position and earn his way into the team. It also says a lot about Cormani and his willingness to accept the fact he needs to gain the trust of the staff and players before he can be in full tilt. I think this is a BIG win with little downside for us all around. What do you think?
We have to remember from now on, THEY ALL will have agents. The fact that even his agents told him this is the best path forward also says something about he's team around him. I also wonder what the feedback from all the other programs that would have been interested in him were. I think the combination of his supposed issues at Colorado and his youth and inexperience dealing with big time college football in a place with no family support nearby were a factor in going back to his original first choice. Let's face it, not everyone can step into that type of limelight at that age, with all the expectations and still succeed to the level people expect. I hope he grows from this to the benefit of himself, his family and of course our Gators! All the best Cormani! GO EARN IT!!
I'm actually on the fence about Mclain. I mean, if he is willing to work and show that he has talent and can be a shut down corner, that's good for the Gators. If he is just about the money and is lazy then he can be cut just as easy. Good news is, I bet it doesn't take very long to figure out which one he is.
