(SB) Ongoing UF Softball Commentary

Pulled her in the 5th when she started struggling, many were complaining she should have been pulled earlier...threw almost 70 pitches. Don't think he "pulled her early", probably would let her go all the way if possible

 

So who do we start in the circle In Tallahassee? I think we need to rest Keagan for TAM. So is it Ava or Liv? Liv might need the experience of a rival game. We may really need her in the post season. FSU is important, but the TAM series is more important. This is where Tim and Chelsey earn their pay. I’m glad I don’t have to decide. No matter, I believe in the process. Go Gators!

 

Softball America:

 

Wish the game was on Tuesday as I'd give the whole game to Ava.

Wednesday, I'd go with Ava on a pitch count not wanting to wear her out, turn it over to Olivia for a couple of innings, and then bring Ava back in to finish the game depending on the score.

I want to see UF beat FSU, but I want UF at its best for aTm. However, this doesn't have to be mutually exclusive.

 

The ESPN announcers at UGALY said the RPI is being replaced with a more reliable KPI:

UF is 16 in RPI with all sorts of contorted machinations ahead of the Gators.

UF is 11 in the KPI along with rankings that are much more accurate/reasonable.

Ole Miss is currently the only SEC team in jeopardy of not making the NCAA tourney with an RPI of 42 and a KPI of 39.

 

So how does one become a "friend of the Gators" and get an invite? I sat next to Dallis Goodnight's mom, but I'm sure the Gator side was much more fun in the 7th inning yesterday!

 

There is no invite, you have to call the softball office and ask them if there are visitor's seating available to purchase if tickets are required or in the case of UGA, if they have space available to accommodate you.

 

Miller has been hammered most outings for the last 2 months, I'm just not sure you can use her with the game on the line......I think you start Ava and use her as lng as you can. If the game is winnable and you have to pull her use Rothrock. If you are losing use Miller and Wooten

 

I would've like to have seen it go straight to Miller Saturday instead of Wooten first. She seemed to do better.

 

You’re using hindsight to make that decision. Coach doesn’t have that luxury.

Apparently, FSU has taken out the old unreserved bleachers along 3B and put in tiered standing zones. This ticket is for that area.

the same scenario occurred Wednesday. But what I meant to finish that psot with was I think she could get some outs for us... jsut need to be put in right situations. I wouldn't hate to see her get a start with a very short leash lol. I honestly think she could get some innings in for us against FSU. I don't think you can even look at that last fsu game honestly....once the momentum shifted it was over.

 

Just to piggyback on this: A&M hasn't yet played a single SEC team that is above .500 in the league. LSU was their only SEC opponent that is .500 and A&M was swept by them.

UF has shown they can hit good pitching. It's incredible - and yet possible - that UF finishes 2nd in the SEC. What an accomplishment!

 

Tonight with the Missouri loss, the only team besides Arkansas that has less wins than Florida who can catch us in the SEC standings is Georgia and the Gators have the tiebreaker. It appears we have secured a bye for the SEC tournament.
