I remember reading something a while ago stating that now that ESPN owns the whole SEC TV Contract that game times would be announced before the season started much how the NFL does with game times. Does anyone know when this might happen?
With the exception of the Georgia game (which always seems to happen at 3:30), gametimes can be set by the networks as late as game week.
Probably not till august. The only thing that cleans things up for ESPN is that CBS can't cherry pick a good SEC game anymore. But, there will still be some cherry picking of the good games even within the ESPN family of ABC, SEC Network and the other ESPN channels. As such I don't think the schedules will be that set in stone for the whole season.
Wondering when, if at all, the FL/GA game isn't played at 3:30. Now that CBS doesn't have the SEC anymore, it's not a foregone conclusion that we'll play at 3:30 (or has something been said about it I'm not aware of?). It would be weird for that to be a night game. Has ESPN said anything about this?
It would def be more of a rowdy crowd if they have an extra 3 hours to party beforehand. I imagine the city of jax would much rather it be at 3:30 than 7:30. On the other hand, half the people that go down there, do not even enter the stadium, so maybe it doesn't change the stadium atmosphere that much. It would be strange for it to start after dark though.
Game time doesn't seem to be set yet, but, I can't remember it ever being at anything other than 3:30. I always assumed that was for crowd control reasons in JAX. But, if CBS doesn't have this game now, maybe ESPN will dork that up for their own personal gains, too.
I think we should find out the time of the Florida vs Miami game pretty soon. A lot of the first Week games are announced way in advance.
I liked him for a long time too. But his dislike for UF just comes through too much anymore. He doesn’t even try to hide it
