There's some merit in your approach, especially if boys can trade the menstrual pad to their girlfriend (or a female friend.. or any girl, really) for a piece of fruit or a granola bar or a dozen French fries. That would "balance the books".

Again: this thread is "a backdoor way to complain about": women's problems: everyones' problems & mens' problems: mens' problems.

If we want to talk about the backdoor problem let's get into how 98% of mass shooters are male. Talk about male problems being everyone's problems.

Has anyone looked into the potential causation/correlation of a lack of free menstrual pads for dudes and the propensity for males to be mass shooters?

So the OP’s point is that boys get less community funding and support than girls? I don’t think that would hold up to some research.

Has anyone looked into the fact that social security is gender-blind and has surviving-spouse benefits and how much money that transfers from men to women?

A dude asking why girls are offered sanitary products at schools, must not understand what menstruation literally looks like for many females.

OP, do you think sometimes cleaning period blood off chairs or desks is a more reasonable plan for schools than sometimes providing feminine hygiene products?

Has anyone looked into the fact women live longer than men? There's just a lot of things we need to fix for equality.

I'm good with paying taxes to pay for girls' menstrual products, and also for 150-200 additional Calories for boys at lunch.

So, you're saying women's SS benefit should be less than men's (if they've earned the same wage each year) because she'll live longer on average?

Of course you're not... the fact that women live longer and continue to collect SS longer is as much a part of SS transferring money from men to women as survivor benefits.

Turns out there is a lot of study on gender differences at school lunch from what they bring from home to consume at school. The studies are focused on serving both boys and girls better.

This will totally not shock you:

Results: Boys preferred the meat, fish, and poultry foods over girls; girls preferred fruits and vegetables over boys (p < .05). Furthermore, gender differences in preferences were also demonstrated with respect to school level.

Conclusions: Food preferences differed between genders and these gender differences varied among elementary, middle, and high school students. Gender differences should be considered when providing food choices to boys and girls at all ages.

Additonally, provided lunches are much more balanced than brought.

No, my point is if our goal is perfect equality between men and women we have a LOT of things we need to look at. But tampons in schools is a good starting point.

Well, perfect equality probably won't ever happen. Biology is a.. b-word (that I don't remember if is banned on this forum) But saying to HS students "well -- we humans are a species with some sexual dimorphism, so... she gets 'free' tampons and he gets a a few 'free' extra fries" -- maybe that's a start?

Even just starting at the high school level we've got a lot to unwind. Men have more toilet access because urinals take up less space than a regular toilet. We already talked about the expenditure on a sport like football. Are we going to give large females less calories than small males?

I’m pretty sure the answer is yes. Women live longer. Men make more money. More women stay at home making no money while they take care of the household.

Is this a new name screen name for that guy, who keeps changing his name, ... the one that hates women and loves the idea of civil war?

Sure. In fact, let's have someone come up with formula that includes age (down to the day), weight, height, gender, etc. and determine exactly how many calories their school lunch should have. I'm honestly OK with that, even though there will be some wasted effort. What I'm not a fan of is: "Girls are experiencing a problem!" - "Let's collectivize it!" and then "Boys are experiencing a problem!" - "Sucks to be them."

Nope. I usually only post on the baseball forums. I don't "hate women" -- my optimum re: gender roles is basically Iceland, which I guess lots of folks might regard as anti-housewife/SAHM. They ain't wrong, really. And I hope the USA never has another second civil war.

Just be clear, the problem boys are experiencing in this thread is that they don't have access to free tampons?

Cost curious, what is the cost of a tampon or pad when purchased in super super Costco size bulk?
