Given gun deaths and murders in general are so much higher in the US vs other first world countries, then how do you explain the exponentially worse parenting that is happening here?

You can't compare the US to other first world countries. Most of those countries haven't had nearly unfettered access to firearms for the past 250 years. That's not going to change, as the right is enshrined in our Constitution. And do you really think the kid in Chicago that is firing a fully automatic rifle at an apartment building with his buddies had a decent upbringing? Guns won't hurt a soul until somebody misuses one.

I’d say it’s more of a vocal minority represented by opportunistic politicians that are funded by greedy self-interest groups.

The Constitution is a living document with mechanisms to make amendments. Enshrinement is an overstatement. In fact, as I’ve mentioned to you several times with no response, this right that you are so fond of is the 2nd Amendment. It was a change… a modification to The Constitution. The fact that it exists is a testament to the ability of it to be changed.

You have to build a bomb (its not for sale at the bomb show), its not all that easy to do without blowing yourself up either. Plus its time delayed.

Actions speak louder than words. Or in this case inaction. The powers that be don't give a rip.

But did a boy walk into the girls bathroom during this graduation? That's the real question we should be asking.

Not even worth debating when someone defaults to that argument. Is what it is. These people are beholden to their guns. Zero discussion about nuanced means to do better. Any regulation is a slippery slope towards bans so the discussion is never had.

I have wondered where else in the Constitution does the concepts of technology and associated rights. The 2A has confounded me as a right to a technology — arms. It is not a natural right of man. The only other place technology is described is within Article 1, Section 8, clause 8 regarding intellectual property.

The confirmation hearing for Judge Brown Jackson regarding the 4A was very interesting as it could be applied to originalism of the 2A. Judge Brown Jackson makes a very interesting case for how to evaluate current day technology implications of a right as written originally.

I think that it’s just one party that doesn’t care about gun control. I wouldn’t generalize and say “the powers that be”, because it let’s certain people off the hook for blocking proposed legislation. The Democrats have been trying to do more, but can’t get it passed.
