I mainly wanted to start this thread because of an incredible quote in the article

Florida Republicans Admit They Made a Big Mistake With Anti-Immigrant Law

Really sums up a lot of Florida politics right now, creating a police state for messaging purposes. Unbelievable.

So if the price of Florida produce goes up will they blame that on Biden too?

I have no sympathy for these people in Florida. They are the one's creating this "State of Ignorance and Hate". I am not going to root for farmers to lose everything, but I will laugh my arese off if they do lose their farms or businesses as a result of not being able hire and retain workers. And I say that because I am sure a large number of them were the ones cheering on Trump and Meatball Ron and their politics of ignorance.

Not a political mistake. Was meant to help DeSantis' Presidential campaign. In the event of conflict between the interests of the State of Florida and DeSantis' personal ambition, always assume the latter prevails.

It may be bad for Florida and bad for Florida GOP, but it's good for DeSantis. And that's all that matters. He would strangle kittens on stage if he thought it would help him personally.

It's somewhat akin to when neutral observers note that GOP tax cuts did not actually help economic performance for the populace as a whole. Not the point. They were just sold that way, along with other pitches. But they weren't meant to do anything except upwardly distribute wealth. And in that regard, they work as intended
