Missed the end of the game thread cooking with the game on in the keeping room. Winners suck less. Lets go tomorrow!!!!
You play all year to get home field advantage and instead of the Monday game being at 6pm when the crowd would be packed, the game is at noon? That makes no sense.
Huge game for Cade Fisher. He came through tonight in a big way. Just what we needed to right the ship. Unbelievable performance from him.
Wind was knocking them down all day. Both games. A lot of well hit balls that just stopped and hung up until someone could get to em. Hell, the second dinger Cags hit in the early game looked like it was going to clear the scoreboard off the bat, then barely got into the bullpen.
All is driven by TV ratings which equals $s for ESPN. Gainesville and Lubbock are small markets. Makes sense to me. Same thing when the Gator basketball team makes the NCAA's in a normal year and not 2007 when they were the hottest team and the overall #1 seed. Our first round games were almost always on TruTV that almost nobody gets with their cable package.
I'll always remember this game and what we saw from the mound tonight as "The Ghost of Finnvold". Go Gators!
What we saw tonight was the emergence of a weekend starter for the 2024 season. Cade did not overpower the TT batters. He just pitched really well. He moved the ball around and changed speeds and they never knew what was coming. That is the soul of pitching. I LOVED it.
