Bonham doesn’t seem like he can be a primary ball handler in our league. Aberdeen is a pretty unknown commodity. Thomas is pretty college ready, but would still be very young, if he comes.

Kugel would start at the two, with Bonham spelling him, but I suspect we target a wing who can spot, too.

i am fine with the typical shortening of a bench, so long as that happens organically…. when 7 or so players somewhat separate within the rotation. But aside from CC, and late, Riley… we had very little distinction in our roster. And so, while I typically would not suggest a 10+ man rotation… this may have been a team for which it might have worked.

wonderful questions, but entirely dependent upon personnel… which will see some major changes. But those will be great topics once we know who we got and what they bring.

I'm assuming that you're referring to Reeves as the one who has lost all confidence in himself. He fires it from 30 feet as soon as he touches it and with a defender in his face. He shot 125 3-pointers this season, despite hitting only 27%. He doesn't lack conference; he suffers from too much confidence.
Anyway, I hope he stays...if he commits himself to upgrading his situational awareness.

Reeves never passes the ball. Not a playmaker. Always a shot. I’m okay with him leaving. Lane is one dimensional and plays defense well. Still he is a tweener. Not small enough to play quick guards and too small for the forward position

kugel was only positive I viewed this year. Blossomed as season progressed. Need more of him. Once LSU transfer forward had concussion, he played poorly thereafter. Poor shooting team needs an infusion of talent. Not athletic in terms of speed, running ability, leaping ability, size, athleticism, …. Need a retooling and portal not going to do it. Need to be able to recruit top 50 HS kids. Can Golden attract and recruit well enough to win? Can he attract a Miller, Beal, Lee, Harvey, …from outside the State? Can he identify talent like Horford and Noah that is not top 50?

I hope KR stays. He has tremendous potential and sometimes kids grow into themselves at different rates. We saw what appeared to be regression but could see just as much, or more, explosion by next year. Maybe having the same coach telling him what to work on over the summer would help him. Heck, if all he does is shoot 300 3s a day over the summer it should help. I think he has super-athletic ability and is one of the slashers I mentioned that has shown signs of being almost unstoppable.

Just learn to play within himself and let the game happen.

Well, in his first year he recruited CC and RK. Small sample size but encouraging. BTW, the 6’10 230 lb Australian (Condon?) is now #117 and a 4* at On3, so maybe he can play. I kind of like that his background is Aussie Rules football and that he is supposed to be very athletic.

Trying to steer this back on topic. Do some of y'all have a list of criteria for CTG next year?

That is exactly what Golden has been telling him to do. Again, like Fudge, his 3pt attempt rate isn’t that high. It is substantially lower than than it was last year, and much lower than guys like Jones and Bonham (who didn’t shoot that much better). Shooters don’t get better by taking fewer shots. No coach worth his salt wants to make a shooter less confident.

His problem has been hesitance in knowing which shots to take. Think of how many times he was open on the catch, took a jab step or dribble, then shot from the arc. Rarely ever went it in. When he caught and went straight up, though, he was pretty solid. Would love to see the stats on his catch and shoot threes versus the rest. But the kid just got so indecisive figuring out if he should be attacking the rim or shooting. You could tell he was nervous on the court.

    Hesitance in shooting?
I'm not sure we're watching the same player. He attempted 125 3s, despite being a backup (2nd only to the 127 taken by Will Richard, who was by far our best shooter).

With the reports from over the summer & fall, I really expected a 9-10 man rotation. I thought that was how we’d hedge on masking the lack of another elite perimeter player. I was surprised when we sorta settled on around 7 players.

it’ll be interesting to see who the staff can get on campus & how they’re blended into some sort of rotation.

We played nine players for more than 5min against MS st. Nine against LSU, 10 against GA, nine against vandy, and nine against KY.

Hopefully Fudge uses the off-season to find a couple of spots on the floor that are his “ sweet spots” to shoot from & that fit within the scheme and flow of the offense. I’m with you Brett, that his percentage from three just doesn’t support him shooting more of them. I do like the idea of his shooting more mid-range shots and slashing to the rim.

Yes, and I should have added my references was before CC was injured. I hadn’t done any check on the stats, but the rotations seemed shorter when CC was healthy. I know we didn’t see much of Shimmey, Aberdeen, Felder( before his L.O.A) or Lane during that time

With so many variables playing into what next year looks like, I think your list is a pretty good overview. The details won’t be known until the roster is settled.

I would like to see us develop a more definitive offensive & defensive persona. After year one, I’m not quite sure what it is. TG seemed like he coached to cover some of our personnel & talent deficiencies

Next year is simple. Layups must be more than an attempted throw at the basket. Dribbling must be less and not done with 3+ defenders. When going strong to the basket..go strong. 3 point shots should only be done by players that can shoot.

    That's all.

I agree with these points. Can you objectively determine the achievement of each, though? I'm thinking of things that are yes/no, it happened or didn't happen.
