Yeah, it's almost like there's a really good reason a successful corona virus vaccine hasn't been rolled out before 2020.

I never said health care workers didnt have to be vaxxed.
I said public employees lost their livelihood.

Cops, sanitation workers, DOT, etc. Lost... Their... Jobs.

Its easy for you to say they should just quit and be "honorable".

 

I agree that the messaging has been terrible by the mainstream media outlets.

However, the COVID vaccine works exactly like childhood vaccines. They were all designed to prevent severe disease, not infection. People ruined the message when early on the neutralizing titers were so high people looked immune from infection for a short time and politicians seized onto this to "sell" people on the vaccine. Any, literally any credible virologist tried to warn against this line of thought, because your system cannot sustain those high neutralizing antibodies.

Polio, measles, mumps, people do get infected. They just do not get very sick. Almost all vaccinated people who contract polio think that they have the common cold. Because of the vaccine they just do not develop paralyzing polio myelitis. However, they are still infected, can still spread the virus, they simply just do not get severely ill....just like the COVID vaccines.

Cops are public employees with high degree of interactions. Cops who refuse vaccination requirements, whatever they may be (not just covid) should 100% have been fired. This is not even the same thing as the OSHA requirement (which was the federal govt dictating it into work environments), but for a state or federal entity to set these health standards for their own employees.

What’s the motto? “Serve and protect”. It ain’t “serve and infect”.

 

Well you failed to prove anything of the kind. They lost their jobs because they didn’t follow orders. This “You’re not the boss of me, I’m not going to and you can’t make me” attitude you’re promoting is juvenile and doesn’t fly when you’re saying it to your actual boss. The so-called “victims” you speak of were given a choice and chose poorly. That’s on them.

 

I resigned from a job due to its vaccine mandate.

Sure, it wasn’t convenient. And there was the burden of having to find another line of work.

But it never occurred to me to whine about it. I couldn’t wait to separate myself from that culture.

Of course many would say it wasn’t a big deal. To me, the mandate was a big deal.

 

So if we take cops out of it, do you agree with her insinuating that people should just quit their jobs over this or even be put in the position to?

I mean again I refer to the misguided single mom working in a DOT office or at a zoning office or something similar.

Again. Single moms, confused by misinformation? Minorities scared because of Americas history with harming minorities in medical testing? You are trying to equate them to rebellious employees.

I at least must commend you on responding. Usually you just vanish with nothing but a rash of negative ratings.

 

Even you are apparently admitting the person is “misguided”. So the answer is not necessarily for her to quit, but for her to get “guided”. If a person is so gung-ho, intransigent in the face of all evidence, and willing to sacrifice their own job, then yeah I think it’s ok to oblige them by firing them. It’s their choice, afterall.

 

It's pretty simple. Certain professions, like healthcare, have certain requirements. It is not unreasonable to require that all employees at a hospital be vaccinated for covid. Employees who refused made their choice. Doesn't matter if it's a single mom or a minority. You would make exceptions for them?

 

Well, we shut them down for a good long while.

 

#1 killer of cops was covid. Shouldn't the employer mandate things that would prevent the number 1 cause of fatality and long term disability. Covid compromised readiness in the military. Any other disease that does that requies vaccination

 

That argument is called argumentum ad passiones. You’re attempting to manipulate feelings rather than relying on facts to win the argument. The argument you’re trying to make is irrelevant to the facts and is only used when the facts don’t support your argument.

 

I agree with all of that.

It’s my understanding the case of polio, measles and mumps infections are pretty rare, because they are slow incubating diseases and longer term T cells, memory cells etc prevent infection. To the extent these occasionally pop up is due to the small unvaccinated community. With Covid and flu, after antibodies wane the disease incubates faster than T cells and other longer defenses kick in, such that infection still happens but severe disease is reduced.

 

curiosity hits! What was such a big deal with it? Posturing as a way to be bigger than death? Think about this ..I made a comment that I dislike(d) masks and was beat to death on here. But missed was my comment that I wore them. I also got the shots without a second thought! I had COVID pre vax and never did I want to have to debate on calling 911 again because I was losing the ability to breathe. since the vax and booster I have been sick just like the old days...so refreshing.

 

Glad you recovered from your detox. Since there are no viruses I just wasn’t keen on participating in a Great Delusion.

 

Great Delusion? You stand on this comment with what facts? Maybe we should invite all the folks that died to join in or is your point that they never died but were whisked away to a remote island to relax?
