Leftists are already propagandizing history, suppressing open debate via selective enforcement of social media rules and search engine algorithms that punish conservative viewpoint (and suppressing free speech as well, but when I've brought up examples you've condemned those as well... they still happen but I want to be fair, you specifically are at least pretty consistent on that end), and trying to take representation away from anybody who doesn't subscribe to an equity-based view on justice and fairness.

Leftists are more than happy to tolerate non-minorities in positions of power. They just have to be "allies." They have to support that same agenda. The race/sexual orientation thing is really just a trojan horse.

That's only a slight exaggeration, but for the most part... that's correct. :D

So is it fair to say you think they are different from you in that they will use their identity to get special favors and stuff, rather than you know, just being normal people with a fairly normal range of wants, desires and concerns that are largely no different than what you would like or already enjoy yourself. Is this what you mean by "equity" - they want to take stuff from you or get stuff you don't have or get? If that is the case, then you dont seem to have a problem with that, since basically you have taken the position that any tactic is fair game to get the outcome you want if the other side is sufficiently transgressive - you cant fault them for that, can you? So at the end of the day, I'd have to conclude that this is more about your fear of being dispossessed in some way, whether it be privilege or material concessions. Which makes you a pretty ordinary conservative and friend of the rich and powerful (and really not much different from a lot of liberals when it comes down to brass tacks), so congratulations I guess.

I understand why I see conservative stuff on my Twitter feed because I follow various political people. But even on my Instagram reels and YouTube ads I get a lot of "conservative" or alt-right videos. I used to see a lot of pro-Trump stuff on my Oculus Quest and Facebook when I was on those more in advance of the 2020 election and don't recall a single Biden ad. This has been despite the fact that I mostly avoid politics on platforms other than Twitter.

Perhaps it's because of my age and geographic location, but anecdotally, I feel like I see a disproportionate amount of stuff from the right. Maybe it's sponsored and I don't notice. It is a bit funny that on Twitter at least, I've seen both people on the left and the right who seem to think, rightly or wrongly, that Twitter is messing with their follower lists or view counts.

Okay. What laws have "leftists" passed recently that "propagandizes" history?
Assuming for sake of argument that what you're saying is true, that's literally free speech. If you don't like the social media company's rules, you can use another platform. Same thing with the search engine.
That's interesting. Are they suppressing their voting rights? Stripping them of free speech protections? Engaging in race-based gerrymandering to deny them political representation?
You mean "leftists" want people in power who share their values? Shocking. But if you assertion is that "leftists" don't put people of color in positions of power, I think you're going to have a hard time supporting that argument.

On this very forum, I and other posters have on multiple times, asked for these examples and no such examples were provided. So we'll wait...... once again. You posted that it is easy ("K-12 is the first place where it’s easiest to tell Democrats have gone too far.")

race to the bottom by the two extremes that is dragging the rest of us down with it

both sides need to ask themselves who wins we we all lose. and people wonder why Russia and China want to be so involved in our social media. split the people, win the war

    Hyperbole?

When you put people in charge to turn a liberal college into a successor to a well-known fundamentalist college in the name of "both sides," you're doing it wrong.

Florida's demographic changes are due to two demographics:
    • Latin immigration
    • Retirement communities.
The former tends to vote Democratic, though not as much as previous. The latter is overwhelmingly right wing. Given DeSantis is a proud regressive politician, it's zero surprise that the olds adore him. There's nothing quite like knowing that a leader will restore the (inaccurate) vision of a world peddled with nostalgia.

"Hyperbole" is that his policies are attacting demographics highly affected by his policies. Of course, trying to explain that dominionism is bad to a far-righter is, well, a waste of time.

There's a reason why Orban's policies leave domionists like DeSantis a bit hot and bothered.

Depends on the program. Hillsdale also frames everything through a heavily Christianized worldview viewed through a thoroughly European lens. Their president compares teaching racism as akin to sexuality: it has no place in the classroom. They're an unabashed supporter of "patriotic education," which basically dismisses criticism of US policies in favor of blind nationalism. I just simply find intentionally sanitized history to be rather repulsive. I guess this just "good education" if you're more concerned with hurting feelings rather than accuracy?

Edit: I don't have issues with improving the quality of education at [institution,] but framing that in the sense of "they teach too much diversity and that's the problem" seems like more of an excuse to protect a certain "traditional" worldview rather than addressing potential issues with, say, funding, technology, student support, etc.

Florida lowered class sizes, hired high-pedigree professors, and ensured students got support to skyrocket in rankings. Our success had little to do with eliminating minority/diversity/whatever studies. I don't doubt DeSantis' brilliance: note problem and, through his presuppositions that diversity bad, ram through policy that reinforces white, dominionist supremancy over everything else... and he's bluntly honest about it.

Yes the hyperbole. Which you have defined well by stating they are trying the college into a fundamentalist college. LOL!

Putting an anti public education politician like Corcoran in charge of New College is the ultimate insult to the school and it's students. Its clear what the governor's goal is and it will be interesting to see the impact on future enrollment.

Seriously? The only example of your "indoctrination " that was so easy in Fl schools was 5 years ago a Middle school teacher made a 6th gr. class survey that was inappropriate regarding
students' exposure to homosexuality. Note: Teacher fired immediately. All the examples used by the David Horowitz Freedom Center (right-wing) publication were outliers and one-offs. Zero statistical assertions of any systemic occurrence. This is exactly why the only real indoctrination seems to be what the Pubs are planning.
Here's a telling quote from another right-wing source (AMAC) "Modern-day left-wing indoctrination in America’s schools now largely relies on the Common Core Standards Initiative, which was adopted by 43 states in 2014. The initiative sets uniform standards that every single K-12 student and teacher in states that have adopted the initiative are forced to adhere to. This began the destruction of individuality in America’s public schools. The primary goal of Common Core is to create a generation of Americans that are fed the exact same information in the exact same manner throughout the entirety of their childhood development. Students are forced to accept the information uniformly provided to them without criticism, or their grades will suffer severely. This is, by definition, forceful indoctrination."
Please venture a guess as to which party in control of Florida has ramrodded Common Core throughout our k-12. Finally rid of it.

I see we're on to step 2. "Prove that it's happening on a widespread level." To which even if I were to establish that (assuming I haven't already), you would respond with "it's good that it's happening on a widespread level."

I'm not wasting my time with this nonsense. It's predictable, it's exhausting, it's futile, and it's stupid.
