That is what Chad Simmons said, he may be wrong but it also could just mean that their collective doesn’t make NIL deals until kids are on campus. Also, most of their class is made up of kids who probably don’t have people beating down their door to give the cash. I would imagine it is a steep fall once you get past the top 300 or so kids.

We shall see. It’s gonna be how Florida can change its NIL laws. Top 5 is probable given Lagway, but we need some legislature help to get to Top 3 IMO.

I just hope that the revisions of state law includes giving the university some leverage regarding third parties and their dealings with recruits. This wild west, discombobulated BS has got to stop. Perhaps some sort of state licensing requirement/process could be put in place that allows the schools to veto the known bums and loose cannons. I know that's probably a pipe dream, but I'd love to see it.

He’s ASU’s problem for the next 2 years….hopefully the Athletic and other outlets will stop plastering his pic on every article about UF.

he’s a far better example of a recruit overplaying his hand than UF “messing up”

More lawd kinda scares me. It seems to always make it worse if politics are involved.

They definitely have NIL at ASU. They gave Emory Jones their biggest NiL at the time when he transferred.

I totally agree about the possibility of a bad situation (of their own making) being made worse by a bunch of politicians. And the hope that they may actually undo some of the damage they did with the idiot law they passed in the first place, probably is nothing more than a pipe dream no matter how you slice.

My personal feeling is that we end up better off without Rashada.
I know our recruiting ranking would be better with him, but in terms of his actual contribution to wins and losses I don't think it's as big of an impact.

For one- a kid coming that far away can get awful homesick. I grew up 5 miles from Rashada's hometown- I know it well.
Gainesville is night and day compared to Pittsburg, CA in every way imaginable.
For another- I think the lack of drama will help lower expectations on our team and we will do better.
I also think (hope) that CBN will work harder to find a QB after the spring who fits us better.

All this is a feeling- born both of hope and experience. I could be wrong...

As a team going forward I think what you’re saying is a good thing. For all the five stars and top classes that Sabin brings in, they still have the feel of a blue-collar team.

That's because Saban has complete control and tons of depth...he can enforce a blue-collar mentality and if you don't buy in the players know they won't play. Saban can get away with that because he can still win with his 2nd and 3rd string players. Not so much at other schools where a top line player knows they can get away with a prima donna mentality because the team doesn't have a shot of winning without them.

I agree one hundred percent. For every California kid that pans out at UF, there are five that don't, and also somehow manage to create all sorts of drama in the process. I wouldn't waste my time recruiting out there. Too much talent in Florida and surrounding states, not to mention kids up north that are attracted to the Florida climate. Miami pulled lots of kids from up north during its heyday.

I dunno, I think the teams that are good for long periods of time in any sport have the same mentality and the players hold each other accountable as well. I remember Ray z Lewis who I can’t otherwise stand saying something about some drama on another team. He said it would have never happened in their lockeroom because said player would have been put in his place and the public would have never heard a word about it.
