Why rock the boat? For a level playing field. Equality, am I right?

I get why Vandy wouldn’t speak up. I don’t get why schools like Florida wouldn’t. Florida is big enough, it’s super annoying to watch, what appears at least, for Florida to cower while other schools play by their own rules

I’ll say the kid that has already been in college for a year, weighs 200 pounds, received good coaching from Kelly and company, and is very very talented to a kid still in high school 100/100 times.

The inevitable consequences of greed and mismanagement.

It used to be a fun sport. Now it will be more about lawyers, court and controversy.

I'm one of those weird fans that actually enjoyed watching the athletic competition and not all the B.S. associated with governing bodies, contracts and who is screwing who over. You know .........the NFL.

Rotary phones and College Football - Served us well once.........

Unless that high school kid is so obviously a game-changing player. There are a few each year. Also what's the quality of the rising sophomore that weighs 200# (and you gave this situation, so OK). Maybe a little less than 100/100 though. That said, this one doesn't seem to me to be on that game-changing level right now.

It makes these NIL opportunity providers as important, if not more important, than the coaches in terms of recruiting

They get to determine the budget and how dollars are allocated.

Imagine a world where Napier wants a kid but an NIL opportunity provider says they don’t like his film so no $

After early signing day, I saw some comment from Rashada saying that he is already studying the playbook. When situations like this arise it seem weird that our “playbook” is now floating around. I guess in the age of transfers via the portal maybe this is common but it did seems odd.

I think you can argue the successful schools are playing by the rules and we are trying to be more conservative. Then again if we offered a kid 13 mil over 3/4 years how conservative are we?

Personally, I'd love to see a minor league form and go all the way back to a true collegiate athlete system where you actually have to be a student. High school kids absolutely would not command the deals they are getting under the guise of NIL in a minor league. It's the passion of the boosters and the fans passion for school colors that drive the success of college football. The 100 plus years of infrastructure, tradition, alumni, rivalry etc help make college football the product that it was. Of course the players are first and foremost but they don't exist without the before mentioned components.

We've seen the results of other football leagues.

Again, and for the last time: Florida didn't offer anyone anything.

The number alone is wild speculation but Florida didn't offer $13MM or even $0.13.

It has ZERO to do with how conservative or not Florida is. Florida is following the rules. If other schools are offering NIL as an inducement to enroll, they are breaking the rules. Florida is not.

If folks can't get the basic facts right, please don't post anything more about this.

Someone enlighten me. Rashada signed a LOI. The LOI is separate from the NIL deal, correct? He signed with Florida but the money deal is with the boosters/UAA? Does that not allow UF some time to let the kinks of the money deal get worked out? Meaning, he may not show up for school for the spring semester but could be here for the summer if the details are worked out. He can't sign with anyone else at this point without going to court, correct?

He can enter the transfer portal and UF will let him out of his LOI in order not to scare off future recruits.

Why would you want someone in your QB room who does not want to be there?
