Correct. As we wrote Wednesday night: “… the value of Rashada’s NIL deal reported elsewhere is inflated and not accurate.” #Gators

I can unequivocally say that Jaden Rashada's NIL deal is not, and never was, worth $13 million. There is not a single QB in the country being paid that amount of money #Gators Not Arch at Texas, not Malachi at USC, not Nico at Tennessee, not Arnold at Oklahoma. Its just not true

“In came NIL - Name, Image and Likeness - which was supposed to reward athletes with enforcement deals once they’d gotten to campus and actually done something. It’s quickly become a way to bid for high schoolers. The bidding in Rashada’s case reportedly reached $13 million. Let that sink in. On second thought, don’t. If you seriously ponder that we now live in world that places such value on a 17-year-old’s ability to throw a football, you might move to Pluto.“

QB 5-star recruit Jaden Rashada and Florida Gators tied up in NIL mess

Gotta love it. Ruiz has been buying players straight up. Bama and Georgia have an unprecedented string of recruiting classes presumably through a prior system of pay and yet florida of all programs is the poster child for the absurdity of buying players for exorbitant prices. It's amazing to me how Florida gets the negative spotlight so often. Just like when Georgia actually had more arrests than Florida yet florida was deemed the rogue program.

Fans think it’s a crazy number but it’s only 3-4 mil a year and I’d guess it’s not guaranteed. Nfl qbs go for 50 mil a year if they are good. 3-4 seems very plausible when you look at the ratio of money generated bewtween tge two leagues. Given the kid we’re to turn out to be a top 10 qb in the nation compared to too 10 in the nfl, I might call that a bargain price.

It’s earily similar to AR getting 15 mil guaranteed in the nfl draft. He hasn’t proven he can run an offense yet.

Walker Howard. Easy answer. Kid likes Billy, highly rated, huge upside, more ready to play than Rashada. Hopeful Billy gets this done asap. Howard at Ole Miss right now.

I don’t think your comparing AR and Rashada though right? One is arguably one of the most talented ( raw) athletes around and the other is not committed, will not start anywhere for at least a few years, and will have to put on at least 25 pounds. AR also has a very big arm ( not saying that guarantees success) and weighs an nfl ready 235.

Florida are just rookies at buying players. Watch how the big boys do it, they are pros. Their system has been in place all along. It runs nice and smooth. We bring a knife to a gun fight and are confused as to why we lose.

We’ve been behind on a lot of things for awhile. Hard to rebuild and play catch up at the same time.

Pay whatever you have to pay at this point. This is not the time to be frugal. It’s already been botched and that time has passed. We are in a bad spot.

Your point is well taken. This whole deal is the antithesis of the "brotherhood of Gators" culture Billy is working so hard to create for our FB team. The recruitment of this young man, regardless of who is at fault, has devolved into a sordid spectacle that could taint and debase the program to catastrophic effect for years to come. I'd rather take the black eye we already have and just move on than take a chance of spoiling the progress Billy has made in bringing in 20 exceptional young men who came to UF for the right reasons and have honored their commitments like gentlemen. I honestly think it's time to cut our losses and look to the future. Nothing against Rashada, his family or his representation. As far as I know they have played the hand they were dealt to the fullest possible advantage and I can't blame them for that. But this is not who I want us to be and I believe Coach Napier would concur.

They shatshow started with drunken “reps” tweeting. The big power players say nothing, they just get the job done. Same could be said of players.

100% dedication is the only way. We have one foot in and one foot out. It’s a dirty business. Black ops are necessary and the public just doesn’t need to know. Bama never has their dirty laundry air in public. We are amateurs. Plausible deniability. Our coaches and admins just have no need to know. Bamas runs on its own. This type of booster doesn’t need his name on a building nor stand on the field at halftime for self aggrandizement.

New England has always kinda had that brotherhood lockeroom with unity over individuals. Yet, they still split every penny of that nfl cap limit between them. It’s the same for those 20 fine young men that Billy has recruited. Great guys, great lockeroom forming but they will still want what they deem as their fair share of the pie.

I guess the good news at this point is that he shouldn't be eligible to enroll for the spring semester anywhere else either now.

Of course it’s changed. Any player that plays for a top program is getting paid. We have no idea how much a starting left tackle costs but we do know we can’t afford the first ten left tackles off the board.
