Class of 2020 - so is that 3 years eligibility left counting the extra Covid year?

If he is good, the bigger question is when will he be draft eligible. You usually only get that last year when they aren’t eligible yet if they are really good. TCU has those lower ranked guys that are playing those extra years.

incorrect. If you would have read through the thread, it says he’s a 2022 signee ar Michigan and redshirted and has 4 years left.

How do things at LB with the two transfers? Do we have more than three other LBs left from last season? Seems like the coaches ran off more players than they were able to replace.

So you take a cheap shot at the staff about the roster in the same breath you’re admitting you have no idea what’s going on with the roster?

Incorrect. If you would have read through the thread you would have understood that I was asking about Micah Mazzccua, not Spurlock.

Like this pickup! We need more young LBs that can develop.

Deuce Spurlock seems like a good LB name. He'll do well at 6'1"/230. I'm thinking he is targeted for ILB. In high school he played LB and WR. He should be able to cover RBs out of the backfield which is something Ventrell Miller had a difficult time with.

Could also use a immediate stud in the middle. Not sure Tejada is that but he may do okay.

First of all we need a run stuffing MLB, which Miller was.

My guess is they want Mitchell and James as starters......Scooby, Robinson, Spurlock and Wingo backups

He wasn't highly rated coming out of high school because he only weighed 200 pounds. Not big enough for a D1 linebacker. He's 230 lbs. now. I like this pickup.

Michigan could afford to sign a guy that needed to sit a year to gain weight. We owe them one.

They also had 2 other freshman LB. I like his high school highlights. I hope he retained some of that speed despite the weight gain.

I just went back to look over his profile. He was already 220 his senior year and was flying in his highlights, so I don't think lack of speed will be a problem regardless where he plays. He looks like he could play inside or outside and cover receivers and has plenty of time left to develop. He made up 10 yards on a RB over a 40 yard stretch. I compared him to the other Michigan freshman LB recruits for 2022, and he was clearly the most athletic/twitchy, so I am not concerned that he left because he didn't see playing time ahead for him at Michigan. Also, Napier was on him when he chose Michigan over offers from Auburn (home state team), South Carolina, and Mississippi. I really like this pick up regardless of what the high school or portal ranking is.
