Interesting fact - Bobby Bowden had a losing record against UF while at FSU.

FSU did have long term stability at HC and DC. That is the difference. If SOS didn’t have the NFL/USFL need……

Can anyone name the two other coaches who won 5 or more games against Bowden?

He played a lot of games against teams whose coaches didn’t last long at their schools.

Looks like 6-6 teams don’t beat 9-3 teams in bowl games very often.

Lots to agree with this post. What I'm wondering is how they are able to have their players not opt out as well as come back next year. Travis could have but also that 6'7, 240 pound receiver. How is it their players have bought into the culture but ours don't? New coaching staff so maybe they will eventually?

Norvell had more time to establish his "culture" while Billy is neck deep in house cleaning. The answer to your question may be timing.

I think Clemson is on the slide and FSU may be the top team in the ACC in 2023. Dabo Swinney had better rehire Jeff Scott as OC if he wants to end the slide and right the boat.

FSU is not back and no they aren't turning a corner. When you take deep look into their program it's really not that hard to see. Yes they won 10 games this season. However 7 of those wins were against teams with a losing record. Let's look at the teams they beat with a winning record. First is Syracuse. They finished 7-6 and lost 6 of their last 7 games. Next we have Louisville. They finished 8-5. They have losses to Syracuse by 24 points, to Kentucky at the end of the season by 2 TD and lost to a horrible Boston College team. Finally you have LSU. This is one thing that FSU fans can tout is their win over a pretty good team. FSU did have the luxury of having a game under their belt as well as facing LSU the first game of the season with a new coach and a new QB. Let's also not forget they won by one point on a blocked XP. If Kelly has a set, he goes for it and FSU loses, they were very much on the ropes. Let's also not forget FSU has the luxury that no other team in the country has, having a QB in his fourth year of starting who will still be there next season. We have talked frequently about Norvell's problems with recruiting at the high school level. That is only going to continue as we get further into NIL and the payouts to SEC teams by the conference gets greater and greater. I believe FSU will be pretty good in 2023. However, what exactly is Norvell building? I would argue not much of anything. He will be in his fourth season next year still playing with an inherited QB and portal players everywhere. What he is doing is not sustainable. He knows he has to win now and that is what his focus is. Napier on the other hand is building UF from the ground up into a program that will contend for many years to come. FSU is living on borrowed time and it won't be long before their duct-taped program is exposed for the fraud that it is.
