Numbers of LB are way off in this class, but if there was a LB we could not afford to lose this class, Robinson was it. However much getting Wingo and James at the times excited me, their highlights couldnt come close to Robinson's highlights this year. The guy was on another level. His 7 weeks of scoring on defense was not some fluke of being at the right place at the right time. He was causing multiple turnovers per game by sacks, strips, hard hits, blocks, deflections, picks, you name it. He needs more size, but he is exactly what the doctor orders for what ails us.

Yeah, I picked up on that as well. Really surprised this has not been mentioned. He had an incredibly good season and hasn’t budged in the rankings.

I Noticed that as well. If anything, it shows that his plan working. Though it will take some time.

I am very supportive of Napier but I think you are being unrealistic here. This rebuild is going to take awhile and I’m still not convinced we can catch Georgia or Alabama without fundamental administration changes. Telling people to STFU is a bit much.

Yep recruiting and winning on the field do not necessarily go hand in hand.

You watch highlights of GA's rb commit, and it looks like a run of the mill rb highlights of any of the top 100 rb recruits in the country, but he goes from out of the top 250 to inside the top 100 after committing to GA. Then this kid has a year that I've never seen from a FL LB recruit, and he doesn't move. That tells you all you need to know about how much the recruiting services evaluate. CBN is giddy about this guy.

I will say this differently, Napier brought in a really good class of recruits, and Rashada was the icing on the cake!

We didn’t get blown out by anyone all year until the bowl game when we didn’t have a full team and they still fight to the end to get a field goal.

Agreed, and also regarding the evaluations, the number of likely starters next year from that class is impressive:

    S Wilson and Mitchell
    LB James
    DL McClellan
    CB/Star Moore
    RB Etienne
    Kicker Smack

Important backups: Douglas, Pyburn, Lyons, Boardingham
Surprise I did not expect to play for 2 years: Bowman
    Others playing last year: Miller
SEC ready size bodies to fill in on OL next year: Farmer, Williams, Hermann, Conner
All portal transfers in the first year contributed.

In retrospect this class doesn't have the feel of a #17/18 class in the country. Urbs first class was similar ranked but absolute garbage.

Yep, but it all starts at the top. Napier needs to "re-imagine" his coaching staff after the real NSD. He has room to reassign some of them. No one need for anyone to be fired.

Thats true and good news. At the same time, we need to qualify that with the fact that most of our 22 class were starting here due to the low talent levels and good evals whereas elsewhere (like Uga or Bama or OSU) they will be depth pieces. Obviously these kids were evaluated well enough to contribute at a place like UF, but probably not attractive enough (yet) to garner transfer interest?

And paying people illegally, and getting state laws changed to favor their recruiting, while having zero rivals in his own state, etc etc

I love this but what position do you cut? The 2 o line positions? But that yielded great results….or possibly the 2 linebacker coaches? Having 2 secondary coaches? There are options at least.

Wait..Wut? There were 2 LB coaches? Was that to spread around the blame?

Supposedly Bateman is the least-liked position coach by a large margin, he can go.
