Kelly really needs to bring that energy if a player isn't going to do it. That and the lineup choices are what holds us back IMO. Light a fire, press, and get up and down the court. That is our game. No more Kyle/Dut/Wyche two at a time... rotate Taliyah and Faith at this point. Kyle isn't getting up and down the court to play a faster pace. Those two can but one at a time with a guard heavy lineup.we gotta create our energy.

I think we, as fans, spent too much time reading our press clippings. Last year was fun because of low expectations. Time to remember that we lost our best player before the season started. Now, if we indeed have lost Jordan, it will be a difficult season. We are not (yet) deep enough to plug in anyone for those two. Still, WBB has always been a long game. We should enjoy what we have and be a little patient with the build out.

The lack of energy/effort isn't a fan problem. We would definitely be better with Zippy, but there is something more here. We regressed at the end of last season, and this team is still more talented than the previous. It does lack a true leader it seems, however. That is where we miss Kiki and Zippy. We definitely should be better than we have been playing though....

Plank may have been the biggest loss.

Good points. When we hit a rough patch in a game last season, Kiki and Zippy would snap us out of it with an aggressive drive to the hoop. I think we have a few that might fill that role, but not with the same quickness. Anyway, this group needs to find ways to compensate. It's good to see Rimdal rounding into form and broadening her game.
Dayton was a tough team last year and in recent years prior. They're struggling to win right now but I think they're probably considerably better than the O-fer record suggests. A good program just doesn't suddenly run out of talent. They'll start to put wins together.

Well, yeah, but I'm not going to get mad about any win. Especially on the road.

I think Deans and Rickards need to step up vocally. Nina is such a great glue player who does it all consistently. KK seems to be one who has the fire to her game when she is on. Leilani is amazing but not sure if she is the vocal sort that KK is. We have very good talent. It is not an issue. We just have to figure out how to get it going and keep it going. If we have a night where KK, Alberte, Leilani, and Nina are all on we could beat almost anyone. Really hope Jordyn comes back because she gives us 5 players that can take over a game.

Nina took the game on hr shoulders to get the win,she may not appear vocal but the team believes in her much like they did Kiki last year, Berte and Correo are improving game by game, Berte has become a solid defender and more improtantly last season when she missed a 3 early she stopped shooting this year she has begun to have more confidenc in herself and her defnse has improved markedly game by game

I believe you've seen them a lot more than I have, but from the games I've watched both this year and last, I think you are correct. Berte is clearly better than last year, and better than she was a month ago. Correa is on her way to being our top player, if she isn't already.

I sat with Correo's mother for the games she shared that Kelly Rae had done more for her daughter in a few months than she got from St Johns in 3 years

The Miami game (finally watched) last night was a revelation for me. Even though I knew the outcome, I was fist-pumping the whole time.

Nina can ball-handle at full-speed and hit those off-the-backboard drives. That kind of thing can really open up everything.

And KK was just such a presence.

I even found myself feeling good about Dut getting the ball at the top of the key and looking to feed people.

Nina "stirs the drink" KK has come in and meshed very well, picks up some of what we were getting from Kiki last 3 years and what we were counting on getting from Zippy, Faith came to the UF program with little if any coaching, she has improved evry year, Rimbdal has gotten more confident in her 3 poin shooting and improved her deefense significantly, the coaching staff has been working hard and it shows

hard to say how well they will do when we hit the SEC schedule but they have improved over last year
