I never knew much about him. Was he always like this?

If Trump ever fades from the scene, can Musk claim that no one has ever been treated as badly as he’s been?

You brought up hair implants, so I just assumed it was.

I don't use Twitter, FaceBook, TikTok or any of the social media applications that are prevalent in today's society. Not my cup of tea so to speak. I am all in when it comes to protecting children from the dregs of society and is certainly a step in the right direction. It would be nice to know who the 30 major advertisers are and if they are aware their advertisements are being aired on such accounts.

‘Zero Tolerance’: Suspension Rate Nearly Doubles For Twitter Accounts Exploiting Child Sex Abuse Material
A cyber security and data analyst funding research into Twitter’s alleged child sexual abuse material (CSAM) problem said Saturday that the platform has nearly doubled its daily suspension rate on accounts that share exploitative content containing child pornography.

Andrea Stoppa, founder of cybersecurity group Ghost Data, had personally funded research into the issue earlier this year after receiving a tip about the problem’s severity. The report allegedly found more than 500 accounts soliciting child sex abuse material that appeared alongside or on profile pages of at least 30 major advertisers’ Twitter accounts, which led some of those companies to pull or pause their ad services from the social media platform.

When Elon Musk purchased the platform in October, he inherited two major lawsuits involving two minor survivors that were allegedly exploited on that platform. One such case garnered 160,000 views and over 2000 retweets that Twitter allegedly refused to remove the content despite the minor survivor begging for its removal while on the brink of suicide.
    .................
It wasn’t until the Department of Homeland Security stepped in that the survivor’s sexual abuse material was removed.

I've seen people on Twitter praising Musk for getting rid of child sex abuse videos and saying it was rampant before with no moderation. Good for him if he is tackling that issue. But I wonder how people were seeing it in the first place unless they were searching for it, which seems not only dangerous but may unintentionally result in the material being spread further. Or maybe they're getting the links in instant messages or something.

I can't explain the how because I don't use the platform. My guess is people are actively searching for it in some form or fashion. I can see where opening a twitter feed for Oshkosh B'gosh or any similar forum may lead people to those that partake in such depravity. I can also imagine people following children on twitter supplying some coded content that alerts the populace to such activity.

In any case it is evident that twitter has the where with all to identify, report and shut down this activity which is a major plus in my opinion. The question that remains is why this was not taken up and pursued with much vigor until now.

No way that's true. The "study" that Twitter has increased it's enforcement is from a Hannity guest. Enough said. Their definition of pedophilia is largely being left wing. There is no way that analysis is accurate.

All the people saying they are not seeing as much child porn as they did before raise a lot of red flags.

I seriously doubt old Twitter didn't have a policy of suspending these accounts when reported.

The suspension rate nearly doubling could mean two things, or something in the middle ... maybe Elon's teams wrote better AI-style monitoring program to find these images ... or maybe the kiddie porn people recently flooded back to twitter (and didn't Elon just do a mass unbanning?) thinking that "free speech absolutism" had them covered ...

I know many are claiming that but not sure if it's accurate or not. Much like with the "hate speech" discussion, I'm not sure whose numbers to believe (Twitter's or outside analysts'). But at least one can search for hate speech, for example, without risking breaking the law just by doing the search. The cynical side of me has wondered what percentage of those monitoring illegal content under the guise of reporting it are just creating a built-in excuse if they get caught looking at it.

What is surprising to me about Twitter is my understanding that 13 year olds and up can register despite the x-rated content. Allowing kids on there also seems like an easy way for predators to meet children - which they obviously do through other platforms as well. Hopefully parents are monitoring their kids' use of the site, but I'm sure that's easier said than done.
