NYC man viciously attacked with baseball bat: video (nypost.com)

The 47-year-old victim is knocked to the ground and the unknown attacker is seen angrily yelling over him as he lies on the sidewalk in front of 1770 Amsterdam Ave. in Hamilton Heights Tuesday at 8:06 a.m., according to the video released Saturday by the NYPD.

The video clip released by authorities shows the attacker fiddling with the bat in his pants with the handle covered by a hooded sweatshirt. He walks behind his intended target and nearly passes him, glancing over at his face.

The attacker turns and walks away, visibly furious, and appears to yell back at the victim. The bat-wielding man then returns and yells at the victim, appearing to stomp him at one point before leaving again.

The attacker was last seen in a hooded sweatshirt with “Nike” on the front, gray sweatpants and black sneakers. The victim suffered a laceration and bruising and was taken by ambulance to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition, the NYPD said.

If he had a gun, he could have shot that Sicko when he came back. It's a shame what's happening to New York, but they keep electing the same idiots

I will never understand why anyone would think someone else would be interested in the details of a random crime somewhere.

No one cares about your threads.

I'm sure someone got their car broken into in New Orleans. Can you start a snoozer on that too?

Gas prices are down. Employment is strong. Blue states are statistically way safer than red states. Therefore we get Hunter pic outrage and “black crime” in statistically safe NYC posts.

Why did you start a thread on this particular crime? It’s horrific, but hardly the only horrific crime that’s happened lately.

St. Petersburg man raped woman at gunpoint after offering her a lift, police say

Oh look, another violent crime in Florida. It's a shame what keeps happening in Florida but they keep electing the same idiots. See how it works? Sorry, this is an absolute garbage OP.

Violent crime happens everywhere. To blame elected where it happens - and try to make it political - is a fools errand. There is far too much mental illness in our country, and not enough resources dedicated to it -- and so the mentally ill/violent crime circle continues.

Did you see the nut job just come behind and just whack him in the back of the head? Did you just ignore my comment about it's a shame what's happening to NY?
The real question is why you are asking this question, do you have some point to this?

I read that also, there's another article close to the same in Baltimore but they're robbing the passengers that do the share ride. Crime in general is becoming a horrible problem

Kinda looks like a targeted attack based on the video. Attacker seemingly confirms the victims identity before hitting him.

We can certainly agree there. Where I disagree is putting it on the leaders of any particular city or party.

As I said, it's a horrible attack. The question is simple. The US averages about 60 homicides a day, more than 400 a week. So why spotlight this attack where the victim was injured, but wasn't close to being murdered?
It 's just to criticize New York for political purposes? I know that conservatives have been really hyping the crime rate, especially before the midterms. And especially in blue areas.
But Miami, for example, has a much higher violent crime rate that New York City. Florida has a much higher murder rate than New York.

It's really disgusting how a certain side of the political spectrum has been allowed to become the arbiters of what does and doesn't belong in this forum, even to the point of a moderator joining in the abuse.

Never understood folks who want to look at macabre videos. Not just something like this, but I do it with sports injuries too. I have no desire to see someone get hit with a bat, and I never need to see Tyron Prothros ankle injury against the Gators again. Why people want those images floating around in their noggin I absolutely can't relate to.
