And, according to uf’s website, he played in 6 games this year, so his rs would have been burned already even if he hadn’t burned it as a true freshman, which he did.

I think what is burned is his relationship with the staff

Why? His rs was already burned. He wouldn’t have retained his year of eligibility by sitting out this year unless it was due to injury and he received a waiver.

Perfect place for Trent and Creed. They pitch it around there more than a little bit.

I don't think any of this has to do with a RS year. I think he was unhappy with his playing time, let it be known, and there was essentially a parting of the ways. He is basically relegated to emergency status, Creed decommits, and Trent leaves at season end.

I added a word to your post in my head, I read it as “that’s what burned his relationship with the staff”. You were just saying his relationship is burned. My apologies. I agree. Carry on.

It's impossible to say exactly why there was such an abrupt parting of the ways. But it appears that BN saw many of the same attributes in Pearsall that Trent brought to the table, plus a significant bump in speed. It's probably fair to say that the absence of high-end, straight-line speed was viewed as the biggest shortcoming in the WR room as a whole, and that RP provided at least a partial answer to that problem that TW could not. But the fact that Trent pulled up stakes well before the end of the season, and that Creed decommitted even before that, suggests that it was just time to move on for everybody - for whatever reason(s). Such is life.

Think you nailed it. Pearsall is really good imo, Trent was simply going to be the back up and apparently unhappy with that role. And that unhappiness spread to Creed.
As for Trent, I will have a difficult time forgetting he quit and that cost us greatly vs vandy and fsu
By comparison, N Wright went from starter to 4th string and was clearly not playing and going to transfer. Did the right thing and kept his head up and finished the year. Will always respect and pull for him.

That’s EXACTLY how I feel about it as well. And you expressed it a lot better than I could have. I realize Trent is a fan favorite, but it was really disappointing to see him handle it this way. While NQW was a teammate till the end and honored his commitment.

For several years I was with a sales force. We were almost 2000 miles away from home and missed our families and loved ones.
I noticed several times that when individuals would get toward the end of their assignment that they would begin to get lazy and not perform their duties.
In essence, they gave up on their sales team....while others would keep going strong right to the very end.
Should I meet up with Naquwn Wright, I am buying that man the dinner of his choice!

You and a couple of my other favorite posters amplified on my thoughts very nicely. Frankly, I thought more than once, after the way the last two games developed, that Trent's absence was keenly felt - especially against the SOW. I don't remember his exact words, but BN also expressed some disappointment in players not fulfilling their commitments to the team after that game. I don't harbor any ill will toward Trent personally, but his decision did have a negative effect on his "brothers", and I do not view him in the same light that I once did.

This is just my take. I don't think Trent or anybody in his family ever been negative about UF. So, I don't think it's right to paint the picture of him as a discontented player.

Nobody knows what happened in the locker room, unless you are one of the coaches/players. All I saw was he hardly ever got in the game, so how can he be one of the reasons to why the team lost the last 2 games. Creed decided to go somewhere else. Whether that's because his brother told him to or something else. It doesn't matter to anybody else here because that is Creed's decision.

I read somewhere here in GC that it was the right decision for Creed because CBN will use his spot to recruit à higher rated player. If that's true then both parties should go on their own merry ways.

It's not about statements so much as his actions in leaving so abruptly. It is what it is.

He played a decent amount early, and was still the backup to Pearsall. With all our WR injuries he would have played a crucial role last two games....I don't think that is debatable. We were scraping the barrel and guys were gassed.
My only point...you don't leave a team mid season

especially since you can't even commit/visit another school as a guy who's going to enter the portal. No Hendo or Shorter or Fraziers would have meant darn near the whole game of snaps at WR for Trent had he stayed and things stayed the same with the injuries. As a result, we had to hot shot Burke and Pay Day too soon and overplay guys like Reynolds and Bowman

Trent was visiting other schools at that time. I guess he had already graduated?
