I expect another approximately 17 to declare to transfer after the 12 losses (Cox, Ortiz, Wilcoxson, Helm, Wright, Lingard, Elksnis, Reynolds, Black, Whittemore, Kitna, Braun) we already have plus departing seniors and AR and Dexter and Shorter. This will be a bloodbath, and we will bring in way over 30 between high school and portal.

Dexter is leaving for the NFL?

Also, I believe that we sign 27 high school seniors in the 2023 class, that number does not include Portal Transfers. So yeah, that overall turnover will be more than 27.

Who knows how many we sign but the number has been the max incoming freshman mentioned, but I don't know how many more we get from the portal.

He was expected to even before the season started. I doubt his play dissuades him from going pro.

What’s the current count with Nay’quan and Kitna gone?

McMillon leaving now too. Wow. The portal is really heating up. I didn't see that coming. These cuts are going to be deep, and we will be all in on the portal for depth. That's 13. Many more to come.

My guess would be 27-28 high school signees and 7-8 portal. Necessary attrition will be a little painful at times I would imagine

I’ll be curious to see where he gets drafted, looked slow this year and still plays standing up.

If I had a kid from a P5 school thinking of going into the portal, i'd advise him to wait until after NSD or the spring after spring practices to get a better gauge on things.

Sad that A LOT of these kids will go untouched in the portal, word to Mordecai McDaniel

Exactly. Folks on the board wanted the "Mullen" recruits gone.. I'm not shocked by anyone leaving at the moment

Sure looks like Nape is clearing out the deadwood. Gonna be a lot different next year.

No. He could be helpful, and you can only cut so deep and rely on transfers. Injuries pile up in a season.

He was asked to move to LB. He could still be back. We will see.

It's the right thing to tell him. However, he would be another project at LB, as per usual for us.

Yea why he decided against changing positions as it would take some time to see the field as he develops. He would need to bulk up a bit after seeing him whiff on that tackle and lose his helmet in one fell swoop.

He is a hard tackler not afraid of contact, so he isn't too soft for it. Earlier in the year when Ryland-Powell first got in some snaps, he had some horrendous whiffs and looked slow footed. I think a lot of McMillon's issue is he needs more game reps. Maybe that has to be at another level or just location.

I thought McMillon had potential, too.
