So if someone doesn’t use it why should they care? Is this like a global extinction event or something?

I’m actually pleasantly surprised he posted those links, as they basically say what I’ve been saying all along. The left controlled what they consider to be a very important and powerful artery of the internet and Musk has ended that. Some consider it the best news vehicle (to which I agree) and that is now in the hands of someone they can’t control. Therefore, they no longer control the narrative. Hence the freak out and 64 pages of Elon hate. All about power and influence and that got taken from them and they hate him for it. Pretty simple, really.

As a reminder, you have made over 200 posts on this thread alone...since November 13. Talk about a freak out...

So the links aren’t condescending if you agree with them? Lol

Anybody see the Tesla semis event? Musk definitely pushing green energy hard. Not sure why he is so disliked by the left.

I can’t speak for everyone else but I don’t give two shits about Musk - I’m just enjoying your bizarre meltdown about him.

So Elon suspended Ye’s account until tomorrow. Was a crazy night on Twitter.

You could make the same argument about football coaching which has many more people posting on it. If someone does anything, there is an opinion about it.

Tim Cook’s response is a stroke of genius

What did Cook do? Nothing. He didn't respond at all. He didn't tweet anything. He didn't quote tweet Musk or reply--even when Musk specifically tagged Cook in a tweet. At least, not in the 36 hours since Musk mentioned Cook. I mean, 36 hours was a long time in Twitter time even before Musk took over. Now, it's almost an eternity.

There's nothing to respond to because, frankly, Apple doesn't need to respond. Musk's rant isn't hurting Apple, because no one takes his rants seriously anymore.

OK, fine, there are probably some of his "extremely hardcore" fans who still take him seriously. They are the same people who email me to tell me that I'm missing the point, because Musk is playing nine-dimensional chess, and I'm not nearly as smart as someone who can land rockets on a raft in the ocean.

They are also the people tweeting that they're going to dump Apple, which is fine, but no one is switching to Android because of Twitter. I'm looking forward to whenever Musk realizes that Google also charges the same commission in the Google Play Store, and has roughly the same app review standards as Apple.

If you were to remove his posts and the posts responding to his posts, this thread would be 4 pages. Yet, to him it's everyone else losing their minds.

Not quite. We have threads about Napier because we are Florida football fans and this is a Florida sports forum. If someone was in a thread debating about Napier and they were not a college football fan, it would be strange.

Did he do something on Twitter, or is Musk now censoring and punishing people for what they say on other platforms?

Even more disturbing it was a swastika inside a Star of David. I won't reproduce it here.

So free speech absolutism isn’t absolute after all?

I’ve been a fan of Musk for a long time. His accomplishments are pretty astonishing and awe inspiring. But he has a long history of making outlandish statements and predictions.

Unfortunately, it appears Musk’s sense on self importance has now overtaken his considerable abilities. Communications has never been his strength, it will now be his downfall.

Not only posted the swastika inside a Star of David but Ye shared a message with Elon telling him what he was posting wasn't love. Ye was apparently upset by that and the post being taken down. Ye also went on a rant against porn, accused Kim of having an affair with Chris Paul and then posted an older, unflattering pic of Musk, as if that was clever.

I know that there are Black men who are conservative, but it astounds me to see Ye being so enamored with White Nationalists and Nazis. Does he not realize that they don't like him and don't want him here? Is the connection just the religious angle and his guilt about being a porn addict? I generally avoid following celebrity beefs, but this was a train wreck. It's weird to see one of the most powerful men in the world sitting up late and personally posting about and moderating these posts. And of course, the Ye guys were piling on Elon saying the post didn't incite violence as Elon claimed. What a mess. I kinda feel sorry for Elon, but he brought some of this on himself by talking about free speech and mocking wokeness in a way that he left himself little room for nuance.

I think Kanye is sick in the brain. He went from “Bush hates Black People” to whatever absurdity he is saying now. Some of his weird statements, before all
this nonsense include; “My greatest pain in life is that I’ll never see myself perform live”, “When you hear about slavery for 400 years...That sounds like a choice”.
